2004 TL shifting issue
Hello,
Does anyone think or know what the cause for a hard gear shift? I have a 6MT and it's starting to become harder to get into 2nd and even to get into reverse. I've been thinking my clutch is starting to go out but maybe it's a trans problem. On some occasions it feels as if i really have to force it to get into second. also while driving at higher gears like 4th or 5th I feel a hard thud when I drop it down to 3rd. I'm just see how to get my car shifting smooth again.
thanks.

when was the last time you replace your fluid?

Shoot probably not since I purchased the vehicle which was around 10K miles ago.... and I have no idea when the last owner replaced the fluid. I did notice it was right at the low level mark. could low fluid in the clutch cause slow acceleration coming out of first gear?

Replace your fluid with the GM Synchromesh Friction Modified. It was recently replaced by an AC-Delco version, part # 88900399. There's many threads in this forum on the subject. Search is your friend!
