2004 Acura TL
Hey guys , just wanted to see if anyone had any insight or advice on my 2004 Acura TL. I was driving it one day and all the lights went out and had me on the side of the road. I have new battery , alternator and fuel pump . When I go to start the car , all the lights radio, comes on like normal , the engine turns over but won’t start , it almost acts like it’s out of gas but I have gas and I hear the fuel pump engage. The tow truck driver assured me it was the timing belt , however as much as the cover I could get off I observed the timing belt wasn’t broken . The timing belt has already been changed before and it looked intact. Does anyone what could possibly be the problem? Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks |
check the positive battery terminal. could be loose

Ok thanks , I will do |
Check the + battery cable. At this age, it might be corroded internally where you can't see and unable to carry enough juice. I had to replace mine a couple of years ago when goofy electrical things started happening.

Thank you , I’ll give it a try |
The positve battery cable is good , the car turns over but does not start , all the lights come on and everything seems normal , it’s seems like it has to be fuel or spark, however the fuel pump is new and I hear it engage when I turn the key , anyone have advice?

- Spray some starter fluid or brake cleaner in the intake and try to start it. If it starts, then the problem is with the fuel. Pump, lines, gas, injectors... etc.
- Pull out one of the coils, and spark plug, insert the plug into the coil and let it rest against engine. Somebody needs to crank the engine, check if you have spark. If you don't want to pull out plug, small screwdriver will do just fine. Just don't let it contact engine directly - there must be a small gap. Like Let us know. |
Ok thank you, I’ll give this a try!, I’ll let you know on here |
