'08 TL -Water leak on passenger side floor

08 TL when it rains for an extended period I have noticed water running down over the passanger door sill trim and onto the carpet /rubber floor matt. It appears to methat water is getting in around the front passeger door weather strip or ff it is getting in from somewhere else and running out there into the cabin. I have pulled up the carpet and foam on the passanger side to dry it out and try to determine if it is coming in behind the footwell kick panel that I also removed but everything in there looked dry with no sign of water incursion/residue. Of course the dealer wants to see it when it is leaking which it doesn't happen all the time.
Any thoughts?

i remember reading something about either an AC issue that allowed the water that was produced to flow in to the cabin, or some type of plug that wasnt inserted which caused this issue (i may be thinking about the same thing) but i have not heard of any leaks from seals or anything. if i can find what i am thinking of i will post...

Could be that the sunroof drain pipe is clogged. I believe there are 4 drain tubes. One in each corner

Perhaps this is it: a/c evaporator has gotten clogged and is overflowing into the passenger wheel well (a common a/c issue with Honda products).

Sounds like what my honda was doing. I wook out the drain tube and cleaned it out and the nipple that it attaches too and problem solved. So it quick you dont want rust and mildew forming

I am not sure that a sun roof drain issue would cause the water to run over the top of the door sill trim and on to the floor. It is running over about 1/3 of the way back from the front of the door, roughly under the arm rest. The back seat and rear footwell area is completely dry so I am assuming this alo eliminates the faulty grommet issue behind the rear seat covered by the TSB. Rain is forecast so I will take a few pictures for reference when it leaks in. Thanks for help.

Water coming in over door sill

Synce- posted 7-8-2009 I noticed in another thread that you recently took in your TL for the exact same issue I am expirencing. I can physically see the water running over top of the plastic trim on the door sill on both the passanger and driver side when it rains hard. Like your problem I believe water is getting in between the seal on the door and the seal around the body.

Can you advise what specific action was taken by your dealer to correct the problem.

Okay, took it back in after last attempt by dealer to fix failed, last time they replaced all the seals around both doors and around the body. Too bad next time it rained hard water poured in again. You could see it running over top of the door sill trim. By now I am really pissed I keep wasting my time going in for warranty service so I did some investigating and found water was coming from the bottom of the door speaker along the seam with the door panel. I talk to the service desk and they say they have never heard of that before so I make them take me into the wash bay to reproduce. It took a while for the water to build up and sure enough they see it so they proceed to take off the door panels to trace where the water is getting in and it appears it is coming in through the speaker housing mounts. They replaced both the mounts on both sides and reseal the vapor barrier behind the door panels. Of course it hasn't rained in 2 weeks so I don't know if it worked or not and I have a no car wash policy so time will tell if this fixed the issue for good. If this cured the leaks they say they will replace the stained carpets under warranty.

2009 Acura TL water leak on front floor board

Ok guys, I have a 2009 Acura TL and I noticed after a hard rain there was was a water sound like a water bottle filled partly with water sloshing around in my car. I didn't think much of it until I didn't find a water bottle in the car. I decided to look some more and still found nothing. A friend of mine got in the car and as soon as his feet hit the floorboard out came water like he had just squeezed a sponge. I immediately called a friend of mine that does auto detailing to get this problem resolved or atleast get the water out the car. After he took the passenger seat out and lifted the carpet there was an inch of water resting in the floor board and of course the 2 inches of carpet padding soaked the water up like a sponge. I called my local Acura dealership in the am and asked if they had ever had any problems like this and they said none reported and they never heard of such problem. After 2 days of investigating and taking the car apart, my good friend (the detailer) Cliff Roy found the leak. If you look at the pic below you will see a hole in the factory body sealant. This is located right above the passenger kick fuse box. This tells me a defect in manufacturing. Also tells me this has been leaking since day one. Acura has yet to reply to my emails about this situation and I am not sure if this is covered under any kind of paint and corrosion warranty but I had to pay a lot to get this resolved and hopefully anybody out there that may have the same issues will be able to show this pic to your dealer and get it covered under a warranty. I guess right now I am S.O.L. Give me some feedback, has anybody else had this issue before? If so what did you do to fix it or has it been fixed? I hope this helps anybody out there.
