07 Type-s Dealership fished me?
Hello, Acuran!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am new here and owned 07 TL type-s since April, 2007.
Anyway good to meet you people here.
I live in Seattle, WA; bought TL s at the Bellevue Acura.
I never owned Honda or Acura before I hated hondas bc sound like cans....
but, TL ....... its really nice.
hey guys, I have a question on Oil changes.
I had an engine oil service at Lynnwood Acura about two months ago.
It was kinda too far to go to bellevue one.
anyway, I thought never have to worry about oil change things since I own a Acura; because Acuras are high end class vehicles.
But My gf and I was talking about engine oil change things, she never check her car engine oil, so I wanted to show her where she can check oil life.
i pull out the oil stick from my TL-s engine.
it was black , really black...
I checked display computer its shows 90% oil life. WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I put about 1000 miles for two months.
Is this possible? don't they supposed to use synthetic oil? is it burn that fast?
I paid for oil change about $96.
I am guessing that Dealership put the regular oils in.....
Lynnwood Acura WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Anybody live in Seattle, WA?

I don't think you would experience "black" oil even if they just put in regular oil, you only put 1000 miles on it. Maybe they didn't even change the last oil for you and say they did??! thats alot of money for an oil change 96 dollars.

The factory fill oil has a high Moly content to help the engine break in. Could be the reason for the color. Not recommended to change the factory fill until the MID tells you to (some say it needs to be changed at 3,000 miles).
You can't tell oil life by "how it looks"; send a sample to Blackstone Labs if you are curious about the health of your oil.

I remember first time it was bright yello.
$96 Is price for synthetic oil? Not regular........
I know synthetic oils are last longer than regulars are...
