'07-S, 6MT low engagement after high rpms?

I've got an 07, 6MT with ~132k miles. I've had it since 104k.

It's worked well, and the clutch always engages mid-stroke when driving normally (4k rpm or under). If I wind it out to near redline, the next 2-3 clutch pushes are soft and they engage low. After those 2-3 pushes, things are back to normal.

It's not necessarily speed related, it seems to be mostly rpm related. Close to redline = soft/funny clutch feel.

I've got mostly highway miles and the previous owner did as well (probably why the original clutch has 132k on it).

I haven't tried high RPMS after just starting out (wouldn't rather over-rev a cold engine). Clutch fluid is between the lines. I've started out from 2nd gear, no clutch slippage. It's my 5th MT car over 25 years, so I'm not too concerned about my ability to shift properly.

I haven't done the valve delete, wondering if that would help. Or if the clutch is going bad (seems a weird way to show it), or if there is something else going on.

I tried searching a bunch, but nothing that was related to rpms.

There are threads related to it, however it is usually a hard clutch pedal feel right after a high rpm run. Seems the concensus is that it could either be in need of a fluid change, the clutch/pressure plate getting old, or the MC. In my case, it seemed as though the clutch master cylinder change has cured it.

Might be the pressure plate.

I'd try having a new master cylinder put in

I had nothing change when I removed the check valve.

If you did have a change in feel, it could be that flushing the fluid changed things (which changed things in my case), or that the delay value was messed up / clogged?

This is most likely a worn pressure plate. Remedies include dropping the clutch faster during spirited driving or double clutch.
The check valve delete just aids in the clutch engaging faster than you're used to. To me, I prefer the delay valve for smoothness.
