After having my battery run down while away for 2.5 weeks (always love finding a dead car at the airport after 15 hrs in transit ), I finally got the car jump started and had the alarm system activate, etc.

I had to use the manual tranny unlock / override to get the car out of Park to get home. I have the battery charging, but no matter what I do I can not get the transmission out of Park without using the manual override.

Does anyone know A) what may be wrong and B) how to correct the issue?
