'06 TL: Battery/starting issue?

I was wondering if anyone has experienced this problem before.

Background: 06 TL - auto, 109k miles. Battery is a year old, starter is a year old.

Issue: this morning I went out to my car and it wouldn't start. Turn the key and no noise, no clicking, nothing. Windows roll down, but that's about it. Called AAA and they got there. Tested the battery voltage and it read 12.5. His diagnostic tool said to "start the car". He got in the car and it started right away. No issue.

Subsequent Observations: as I'm driving I notice my automatic windows up and down don't work. I also notice that the radio is asking for a code like the battery did die or was disconnected.

Questions: (1) is it possible for the radio to ask for a code without the battery dying or being disconnected? (2) any clue what would cause this issue? (3) how long do the stock alternators last?

Any other comments/feedback is greatly appreciated. The more discussion the better. Thanks

1- Unlikely-- your TL's power is being disconnected somewhere, assuming the battery is good even under load [I don't think AAA road service tests that].

2- Check the battery cable clamps for tightness and tighten as needed (usually the negative clamp is the culprit).
Check for corrosion on the clamps and in the cable behind the clamps-- the positive side is more prone to corrosion).
Finally, check the negative cable's tightness at the ground end.

Let us know if one or more of those problems shows up. If not, get the battery tested under load.

I check the terminals and they were seated properly. I tightened them up to make sure they wouldn't come loose. It appears that all is well as I haven't had an issue with the car yesterday afternoon or this morning.

This was a very strange occurrence. Is there a history of issues with the key tumbler in the ignition? That is the only thing I could think of, but I don't know how that would explain my radio asking for the anti-theft code.

When the battery is reset, it always asks for the code too both the navigation and audio.
