07 Tl is completely dead

Hey guys, so i have a 2007 Tl base. The night before my car was working fine. I had the AC the whole time i was in the car. The next day when i try and open my doors the remote wouldn’t unlock my doors. So i manually open it and when i try and start my car..nothing. No crank, no clicking sounds, no lights, power seats didn’t work, and my trunk would not open. The only thing that works is my horn lol. I tried to jump start my car with 3 different cars, two with V8 engines. No luck what so ever. But when i connected the jumper cables to my battery and made the other two ends touch there was a spark so my battery might not be dead. Does anyone know what this issue could be? Pls help!

I'd disconnect the battery for about 10 minutes, then reconnect it and charge it for a few hours. Don't try to jump it again. Try some of the accessories to see if you're getting power after it charges for a bit.

If you don't have a charger, I'd consider investing in one.

Thanks for the reply. I will definetly try this. I’m hoping the battery is just very low on juice. But do u think it could be a blown fuse switch? i really need it to run this weekend

This might seem overly simplistic, but you have indeed heard about the handsfree link disconnect, right?

I suppose it could be a blown fuse, but I don't think all the accessories are connected to a single fuse. Unless there's some sort of master fuse in one of the fuse boxes in the engine bay. I'm not familiar with all of those - never had to replace or service them. But you might check them out for good measure. I believe there are two fuse boxes in the engine bay on the 3G. Might as well take a look to see if any fuses are blown.

Yes, when it doesn't work it has the possibility to drain your battery and leave you stranded. I would recommend disconnecting it if it isn't already. Also take a reader and see what the battery output is. You should be able to get accessories with "jumping" the car.

There is a main fuse in the fuse box in the engine bay. I can't recall which it is but I know there is one that fails for some folks.

It doesn't matter if it doesn't work - it can still cause parasitic battery loss. I had the same thing happen in my 3G. I ended up removing the top panel and removing the module altogether. If I remember correctly, there's a fuse you can remove which will disable it. But I can't recall exactly.

The HFL is attached to the roof behind the rear view mirror and just in front of the sunroof switch/Homelink button module, which has to be pulled down to access the HFL.

It's a simple 5-minute job to disconnect the HFL and reinstall everything; there are diagrams and photos in a number of forum threads on the HFL.
G/L, and welcome to AZ.

Yup, had the same issue. Had to remove the entire module up top. After that no mysterious battery drains.
