Question '05 TL 6MT Tranny Issues? Shift gate "disappearing"

Hey wassup guys,

When upshifting, I notice that sometimes the shift gates "disappear" and it seems like there's nothing there. Let me explain. When I'm upshifting, like from 2nd to 3rd, I hold the clutch in all the way (obviously) and shift. Normally, the shifts are clean and crisp and I can always feel the gates. But now, like in the past couple of days, I've noticed that every so often, when I'm shifting, it seems like the gates all but "disappear" and like there's nothing there. I don't remember if this happens during downshifting, though. Is this normal?

From 2nd to 3rd, I upshift around 27 mph and the rpms at about 2.5 to 3 grand. I've driven other manual tranny cars before (Accord 6MT, G35 coupe) but this is the first car I've owned in stick.

I just got this car a couple months ago, btw. Also, when I was reviewing the service log from the dealer, I found that the tranny was replaced about a year ago after trans failure.

Anyone have similar problems?

TIA

Yes, this issue you're experiencing is the 3rd gear issue. If you search on this topic here, you'll find numerous posts regarding this. The only thing to solve this issue is to replace your MTF with the GM Synchromesh Friction Modified formula.
