05 Acura TL Reverse Slipping Shutters

2005 Acura TL V6 Auto. 123k. Reverse slips. Rev the rpms and let off- it will start to pull. Give alot of throttle and it will shutter and move backwards. Reverse works in the morning and gets worse as you drive long distance. By the end of the day-no reverse. Next morning-reverse works again. All forward gears seem good. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

By the way it is the wife's car so selling it is not an option. LOL just wondering if there is a fix before I buy a transmission.

Could try doing a 3x3 drain/fill with a Trans filter change. I haven't really heard of reverse going out on these, just slipping in drive.

I have a new trans filter and hardware $35 Shipped for the lot. Let me know what you plan on doing. Also interested to hear what is causing this.

OK thank you. I forgot to mention that the transmission fluid is very very clean. Just purchased the car so we do not know how it was driven before. Since reverse works when the car is cold we did not realize it had a problem. If I decide to do the filter change I will definitely let you know. Also will follow up with the fix!

I am thinking when the car warms up the fluid gets thinner than at cold temps. With thinner fluid the clutch pack doesn't have enough meat left to engage. Just my could be wrong though.
