'05 Acura TL P2237 and P0134
So the check engine light came on yesterday. So i connected the OBII scanner and i got P2237 (Generic o2 sensor positive, current control circuit/open bank 1 sensor 1). I erased the code and turned on the car. Then i got code P0134 (o2 circuit no activity detected bank 1, sensor 1.) So i guess the sensor went bad. So does this usually happen for a reason? or do they just go bad? Also i taught i read that Acura covered O2 admissions for 7 years/100,000 miles in California. Is that correct or did i misread something? Thanks for the help. Also Anyone know where that sensor is?

Did you miss my post in #2?
It's the rear primary sensor, part# 36531-RCA-A02. It's #9 in the diagram:

yeah i did thanks, I'm just confuse where the 2nd cat is. bc the one right after the J-pipe is the third cat right without a sensor, and when i looked under the car, i didn't look that good but didnt see anything before that. i'm just going to have to look up a diagram that shows me where it is exactly.

I called Acura and in California they cover emmisions for 7 years and 100,000 miles i think. I have to pay though $120 up front and if it is an emission issue they fix it and return my money. But i was just wondering if a cold air intake affect the oxygen sensor? the hose connect to the intake arm is on but not supper tight.

In California it is covered by warranty because of the strick smog laws. It's covered for 7 years , 100,000 miles. I didn't take in because i don't trust the dealers, I would have to give them $120 up front for them to check the car, they could have said it was something else just to keep the money and charge me extra to fix, so i decided to just fix it myself. BTW if it is an emission problem they will refund the $120
