'04 chrome rims causes slow leak in tire pressure

Hi! I have a tire that I put on in January of this year. America's Tires wouldn't warranty it because they said my chrome rim is bad. The tire was doing fine until last month when it went flat. Today it went flat again.
The options as I see it are, one) have the wheel rechromed? two) buy four new chrome wheels - bad option. three) buy four new alloy wheels - a bit better of an option but don't want to have to go this route.
four) rebeading the rim. Would this work and be sufficient?? = cheapest option.

What are your opinions? And, have you experienced this?

Thanks much!

Have the tire removed then use some elbow grease to clean up the bead area. Hopefully the plating isn't deteriorated greatly to allow air to leak out under the chrome. You can always use a bead sealer during installation.

I seen chrome wheels so deteriorted that the steel wheel actually split at the bead area.

Nitrogen can be used, no moisture and larger molecules, less leakage.

i have experience but only on one rim and not nearly as bad as yours. Just wire brush it and sand it to a smooth surface on the mating surface, prime. Mine holds air just fine.

I had the same thing happen with my old BMW. Having the rims rebeaded will slow the leak significantly, but I was still putting air in my tires every 2-3 days. Eventually, I just got sick of the constant hassle and bought 4 new rims.
