So when are you lowering it
I got tracking info on both with confirmed estimated shipping dates for aspec lip kit and tails to arrive tomorrow!! Hopefully I can get everything installed this weekend!

I want to lower my car cuz it needs it baaaad. Ill have to wait tho unfortunately, Just spent $900 on my car, and I still need new tires and timing belt done. I need new shocks since i have 123000 on the original shocks. and im in a toss up of what to actually get. H&R sports with konis, Stechs with konis, or tein SA coilovers.

Or Tein Street Basis

Talk to Wacker or 06TL4Life

I'm biased though, damping adjustment FTW

Ya I thought about those, but im picky when it comes to comfort. I feel like the stock ride is harsh already but I may have worn out shocks I dont want to slam my car by any means. Just about 1.5" drop would be fine for me. I would love to kill the wheel gap completely and tuck some tire, but its not practical for me since this is my DD and the roads arent the greatest downtown Indy where I work.

Zach....I will be honest with you....

if you are only looking for a 1.5" drop....get springs....That is ofcourse if you are not looking to mess with the ride height at all....

If you live in a place where you raise the car up in the winter and want the drop to be more function than form....look into coilovers....

Tein basic is an awesome coilover....I had it on my car for 80K miles before I sold it....worked perfectly....but I would suggest the XLR8 ISC N1 when you compare Tein SS/SA....ISC N1's come completely preinstalled with top hats and everything you want....

by the time you get Tein SS/SA and then add top hats and then try to install everything, it comes closer to ISC N1's and the N1's offer preload adjustment as well which Tein's dont....

so to sum it up,
If you want just drop - springs (Tein S or H Techs)
Basic coils - Tein Basics
Dampening adjustment coils - ISC N1's

If you order from heeltoe, you can use the coupon code "swoosh" @ checkout which will give you like a 5% off your order

hmm ive never looked into the ISC N1s. I just know that my wife will probably kill me if I spent $1000 to lower my car. My issue is I spend all this money on a car to customize it and then I get bored, shop around and end up wanting to sell within a few years. I can never be happy, lol. With that said, it makes it harder for me to make decisions. I dont want to blow a bunch of money into my car. I have been putting off doing the exhaust work for the same reason. Just sucks that cars eventually get old and are worth nothing it seems if they are touched from factory setup.

I know as soon as I get my aspec kit on im going to want to lower it. decisions, decisions. wife or no wife haha

well you have 2 options...

keep all the stock items...so when you go to sell it, un-mod the car and sell it stock and part out in the BM....or put the car on the BM with all the mods done and see how much you can get for it

Ya I guess that is true, modded TLs are more valuable on here for someone that wants a pre-modded TL at a decent price. saves them all the trouble of install and buying parts. Ill have to see, I just looked at the ISC coilovers. would I want the sport/street or street/comfort. Is that just the springs they are referring to? cuz it does have adjustable dampening right?

Anil why would you throw springs on stock shocks that has 130k on them

Stock ones compared to my Tein basic were soft. But I had 123k on them and lately they were soft as Cadillac hahaha
My dad was like don't replace them, they are so comfy

Installing the tophats are easy if you have a friend that has a shop.

Don't get the coils right now, add those stuff to your car, fall in love...when you get bored, buy coils haha

PM XLR8 he is great with pricing trust me

Yes....you can pick your spring rate....you can dial in the dampening as you like and you can mess with the preload if you want less spring travel

I am not the person to ask for the right spring rate LOL....I like my ride to be stiff, I like it so I can corner hard, I dont mind the ride being bumpy....I went with the sport/street since I got it off the BM but if I would have bought brand new I would have probably went with race/sport....

Ask Chip (The Machine) or John (ebelp)....they can help you with the spring rates if you are looking for a comfy ride

Ill definitely have to wait on lowering it, so the goal right now is to enjoy the new stuff I got coming

It would just be nice to make up my mind on what route I want to take to lower it to save. Hope for a June bonus!

Nice haha

If I were you, this summer I would get the small details done on the car. Well you are almost there anways...

Use stock suspensions for the winter if they could take it. And buy ISC coils after winter next spring and lower the car + have comfy damper
I know budget issues too haha

That might be the way I go unless I hit the lottery or something. My biggest issue with this car is 1 thing leads to another. I need new tires, but I dont want to buy stock size tires if I want rims soon. and If I get rims, I will want to lower it. So basically for it to look good and done right I have to spend like $2000 at once.

I've been here for 1 year
I learned so much from guys here in one year...thanks to them. They know themselves

Do you guys get snow there?
Buy new tires for stockies, who cares they are like $400, buy all season

Use stock rims during winter, so money you paid for the new tires won't feel like wasted

Buy new coils next spring, lower it you gonna love the car and rims... when summer comes and budget goes up again, buy new rims and summer tires.

So you don't need to sell the stockies to get some money and buy new rims
and you'll use them during winter. Cheaper to replace stock tires

It does snow in Indiana... we had alot this past winter and the TL handled great even with bald tires! This is starting to sound better, so thanks for helping realize this, good news is if I were to sell the TL id have the stock set to put back on with good tires when I sell it and could sell the new wheels I get seperate

Congrats on paying off your TL, Zach.

I didn't read too deep, but I've got H&R Sports Springs on stock shocks....no worries.

Yea, mine is what is called a "respectable" drop. I actually wish my rears were lower, but hey.....

But I think you can run them on stock shocks!

Ya I would do that if my shocks didn't have 123k miles on them. Pretty sure they are about to go cuz my ride is getting pretty harsh on factory springs

ok coilovers but then that turns into Teins basis or Tein SA or ISC N1? Then I have to factor in the cost of camber kit as well. As well as ease of install its a decision ill make i guess when I get some money saved up.

Zach....as I mentioned its what you WANT

so if you want height adjustment ONLY get the tein basics...
if you want the dampening adjustment get the ISC N1's

I was happy with my tein basics for 4 years and 80K miles
