soo photobucket completely screwed me over with all my pics (they won't allow 3rd party hosting unless you pay a ridiculous amount of money), so hopefully one of these days i can do a "summary" post and put all my history pics in a new post with a new flickr account (or send a mod "replacement" posts that are just copy and paste with the new pics). here are some of the latest pics of my car!
and tried my first hand at a machine DA the other day on my wife's 2015 MDX...did a full wash, clay bar (nanoskin sponge), then wolfgang's sealant with a black pad, and then topped it with collinite 845 on a black pad (red pad coming in the mail). up next is trying my hand at correcting my TL (swirl city)!

so we lucked out big time on the mdx. It's a 2015 but we bought it private and he had the cross bars already on. Then, im on good terms with the local acura parts manager (I've bought a ton of things from him and we always talk cars), and they had an mdx trade in come in and he took the running boards off and just gave them to me for free! I owe him a few lunches for sure!! He's a great guy and I really appreciated it

I'm still salty about Photobuckets decision but am glad to see you're persevering. It's a shame. Some much lost knowledge. Car still looks fantastic and I really dig your mdx, neighbor has one same gen and I can't help but look at it everytime I see them leave.

Dude, you can still download your pics on PhotoBucket back to your computer. Then, just download them from your computer. Use the 2nd icon from the right in the Reply box to access them from your computer.
I've abandoned PhotoBucket completely now.

my CBIs are finally breaking in and here's a shot of them on with the vleds triton 5k switchbacks. i love the CBIs, they look sharp!
thought this was a funny picture even though my wife was completely questioning what the hell i was doing
"how low are you"
"less than 2 pizza boxes off the ground"
thanks guys, luckily she got that from my wife since i can't take credit for that. she's not the easiest baby but she's growing fast and she's the highlight of our day
four months already
her first time at the beach!
and here is my favorite shot lately, this was taken after work the other day and shows what some love and care can do for a car. original owner, 9 year old car, daily driver. i use leatherique for the leather 2x a year, griot's garage leather conditioner in-between those leatherique applications, and then take care of the dash and door panels with acura vinyl cleaner followed by aerospace 303.

Car looks great, very nicely done, classy! I went with the Nightbreakers, and while the light output is great I feel like they dont have the "modern" look of the CBI's.

here's some new pics! still trying to stay away from any new mods and just enjoying the car! i flirted for a while on selling the car (i have about 20 people "in line" when i do sell) but i think i've settled on keeping the car 3-5 years and really save money during that time to get something very nice at that point (most likely a slightly used s4 or s6 depending on family size). so right now i'm "refreshing" stuff that has been on my car a long time and making everything feel new again.
replaced all my interior LEDs since they faded after 8 years and the new VLEDs interior lights are super bright and super white. love them
picture of my dash camera (blacksys CH100B) and radar detector (escort max 360) that are up 24/7
random pics
tired of putting wheel wax on my wheels every two months with all the spokes, so i researched some wheel coatings and settled on mckee's wheel coating. the wheels look and feel great and it should give me about a year's worth of durability. time to give away my wheel wax to family haha
before
after
after practicing on a few family cars, i finally attempted a two stage paint correction on my car. i'll have better camera pics later this week but this will do for now. foam wash, nano skin sponge (clay bar), jescar compound and polish using a torq10fx, wolfgang deep gloss paint sealant, and collinite 845 wax. looking back i probably should have done a ceramic coating but i was tight on time (had to get up at 4am every day of labor day weekend to work on the car before the baby woke up) and this is my daily. maybe i'll do it when i do a light polish in 6 months to a year.
WDP hides swirls well but in person there were a TON of swirls in this view
scratches/swirls prior to correction
car all taped up ready for correction
first correction
after two stage correction, sealed, and waxed. better camera pics to come!
here's emma at just under 6 months old...time flies!
ending on a car note...i believe the 6mt type s was the last good overall sedan acura made. i've heard strong rumors that a type s is coming back around 2020 but i hope they give it the balance of luxury, performance, and aesthetics that were seen in 07-08 but with performance on par with today's new standards (310+ hp)

thanks guys!
a little background on the reasons for the new wheels and tires: i wanted these VMR wheels 3 years ago but they weren't confirmed yet to clear brembos and i was eager to get rid of my semi aggressive xxr wheels and fully enjoy the performance mods of my type s, so i purchased the tsw (which i have loved - only about 20 lbs each). VMR has since confirmed these clear brembos and since I needed new tires anyways, I decided to go all in and get these wheels.
onto the install: so little bit of a hiccup, i went with 245/40 thinking i would be ok since i have less aggressive wheel specs (18x9 +32 to 18x8.5 +35) and i always love the grip/look of wider tires, but they rubbed as i backed out of the parking spot of the tire shop as i went over a small dip. i absolutely hate any rubbing and have been going less and less aggressive so i can fully enjoy my performance mods, so I was pretty upset that day. I ended up getting some good advice to talk to the tire shop and see what they can do since we originally discussed staying at 235/40 but decided together to go wider at 245/40.
LUCKILY they have amazing customer service and agreed to change my tires to 235/40 with no charge. i was so grateful and relieved! i took the car in monday and got the proper 235/40 tires on and now I can fully enjoy my new set of wheels! I absolutely love the finish and the classy look of these wheels. they weighed in about 22.8 lbs which was more than the vendor had predicted, but it's still not considered a super heavy wheel (they are flow forged).
i'll be making a separate thread on my full review and to show some of the other offerings VMR has, because I think they have some of the best looking wheels, lots of sizes are brembo friendly, and they don't break the bank.
next up i'll be doing a brake flush, rebuild my power steering pump (thanks J!), and then painting my calipers yellow to mix it up.

thanks guys! i actually chose them because they look so similar to my last set (and my xxrs before that). i love that style and can't get away from it haha. i mainly wanted the hyper silver one color finish and love having a wheel without hubcentric rings (they would fall off time to time even when glued in)

some recent pics
and these are all the parts ready for my caliper refresh, hopefully this weekend. they are rebuilt brembos from rockauto and i'll be painting them yellow with the g2 kit. nothing wrong with my brembos, figured after 10 years i might as well rebuild since they are so cheap. paint and rebuild, 2 birds with 1 stone. my teal brembos will be up for sale soon and my tsw wheels are still up for sale in the black market.
