WDP TL-S: New Mods

New Mods:

- Eibach Prokit
- Koni Yellows
- K&N Filter w/ Custom intake snorkel
- ARC Radiator Cap

I think Eibach Pros have similar drop as Tein H-techs. Front is about the same but rear sits much lower than the H-techs. Didn't used rear camber with the H-techs but I might need one for the Eibach Pro.

Koni Yellows Setup:

- Front: 1 full turn, Rear: 1 full turn
Ride is pretty stiff. Most of the potholes and grooves can be felt through the cabin. Bumpy ride.

- Front: 1 Full Turn, Rear: 5/8 Turn
Soften the rear damping a bit. Much better ride comfort.

been wondering how it would look on a WDP. i've got a set of eibachs in my garage since august... just havent gotten around to it yet...

so where the koni's worth the extra money?? instead of spending $700+ on springs/shocks, i could just buy a set of tein's again...

i paid $800 for Eibach/Koni setup. i could've had tein ss for $850. only $50 more for the coils. but i'm more of a person that doesn't mess with ride heights or dampings once its set so i just went for springs/shocks setup.

you'll need new shocks if you go with spring setup eventually. so i think its not about if its worth it or not. you'll NEED it

WOW! That is cool.

Really, really nice. It looks great.

I wish the TL-S had come stock with 18's. You put 18's on and, IMHO, it's perfect. It'll fill the side-to-side part of the wheel well, just that much more.

the only thing keeping me from springs..You think even with a comptech drop I'll need the shocks?

If you size it right .. 18's are just going to change the rubber to rim ratio.. the diameter remains the same. So nothing more gets filled.

i dont mess with ride height either (however, thats why i put the teins on my last car)

I like your stance, and all is good with that. BUTT... now when we are talking about $$$, which one is going to ride better?? eibach/koni setup ? or tein SS setup ?

i had tein basics on my 06 TL, and it drove OK.. i've felt worse, but it wasnt that comfortable. Keeping in mind, i didnt have dampening adjustability.

its a tough decision to make.... i know, eventually you will NEED to change your shocks out if you change the springs.... im just trying to figure out which one will ride better...

Yeah. You're right. I always get excited about getting some 18's" and "filling the rim".

That looks great! And to be honest, if you would have said something about a gold engine cover. I would have laughed. But after seeing it, I really like it. Nice work!

You've just taken the words out of my mouth. I'm curious also, would Koni'/Eibach combo ride more smoothly or would the Tein SS?

Can you adjust the dapening on the Koni's or are they just high adjustable?

If that was the case then I'm guessing TeinSS > Koni's/Eibach being that price is about the same from what you've guys mentioned.

Also, I wonder if we can do group buys on TEIN'S anyone know?

Eibach/Koni vs. Tein SS

I had really hard time choosing this setup too. It was only $50 difference between the two and this makes it more difficult to decide. Tein have few advantage of being height adjustable plus option to add in EDFC. But from my experience and knowledge over the years, Teins have tendency to clunk and make noises.

I had Tanabe Sustec Pro coils on my TSX before and it was the softest suspension setup available at that time. Ride was pretty similar to stock and added sportiness to the handling department. But over the period of time, it started to make clunking noises. Also I never adjusted the height once they were set. Due to this I decided to stay away from the coilovers and go with springs/shocks setup.

Btw.. Koni shocks are height/damping adjustable. Mine had 5 different perch (height) settings

ditto. my tein basics made alot of clunking/banging noises ... i had the car down about 1.9/2.0"

i would never plan to mess with ride height, but it is a cool feature... got a car show coming up? slam her down another inch or two. takes 20 minutes....
winters coming? big snow storm? raise it up! only positive thing i can think of

Nice whip. The tint looks darker than 30%. It kinda looks dark enough to pass for 20%. I'm feeling the gold engine cover also & those wheels look 10x better w/a drop on the ride. 2 thumbs up playa. What's next for the ride?
