LONG time, since i ran into a post from you!

How did you manage the black top in the summer? Did you notice any difference in heat to your car? I am just wondering since you have full on WDP top before.

Thread revival!

I'm seriously considering this mod myself. I know that I don't sit with the majority here, but I'm with the OP and a few others who spoke up... I like the contrast of the WDP XM antenna on the black roof. I don't know why. Now I can't decide if I want to pick up a NBP pimple, or just save the bones and reapply what I already have.

Wow. The more I look at this mod, the more I realize how it really changes the character of the car.

As seen above, the removal of the xm antenna is super easy. The biggest part of the job however is removing the headliner to access the nut(A). I have not tried but just thinking, a person *might* be able to cheat (not dropping the entire headliner) by removing the third brake light (cover and fixture) and use that opening to reach the nut(A).

Below are pics of my "xm antenna delete". I made a small patch from carbon fiber (real stuff). High grade ($$) resin was used to fill-in the opening and make the surface flush with the exterior roof.

Below is a photoshop side-by-side comparison of the "xm antenna delete".

This was my set-up about a month ago.
I had a 05 Silverstone/Urban grey GTI and my SSM TL.

Even though my 'dub was a total pain in the @ss, I kinda miss it. Still love my TL though.
