Thanks alot! Well, I was a very long process, I noticed the paint mismatch shortly after I got the car. I took it in after 2 weeks of having it and they agreed to fix it; it was obvious by the way they acted that mine was not the first one they've agreed to fix. To make a VERY long and painful story short...It took 5 weeks of back and forth to get it to my satisfaction. The end result was a new bumper cover and fresh paint on that. The other attempts they made turned out yellow just like it looked before and once it was bright white (worse than the yellow). I was not rude to them about it, but I let them know that I expected it to be fixed.

In certain light it looks off, but I got down and looked at it very close, and it is the same color and texture of pearl as the metal on the car.

I know alot of people have had their dealers to refuse to even try to fix it and I know some had to really fight to have theirs repainted. My dealer was VERY reasonable even though it took them a while to get it right, they used their mobile service guy to bring it back and forth and also gave me a brand new MDX with 75 miles on it as a loaner.

I guess my long story is not so short after all. Some bumpers are not as bad as mine was, but mine was horrible. I have before pics if you'd like to see! My car is a leased car but I felt I should receive the same service and repair as someone how had financed their TL (besides...we never really own our cars until they are paid off).

Wow Crissy! I know you and your man must be happy about how that turned out! Looks good! I was going to tell you that if they couldn't get it right before, maybe you should tell them to change those wheels for you to draw the attention away from the bumper!

So, minimize the $1500 (3) incidents with dings and stuff, and you should be able to finally enjoy this lease! Next up...20?? TL with all new stuff to play with!

Good for you for being so persistent! It looks like it turned out very well. If you have a minute, post up the pictures of what the bumper originally looked like.

I love the color, but honestly, I won't get it again, whether I get another Acura when my lease ends or decide to go with something less expensive. I'll think I'll go with black or red next time.

Demand that they fix it for you free-of-charge. That's what I did, and I know a lot of others have done the same. You might have to play hardball for a minute to get them to do it, but they will.

A lot of people aren't good at hardball Brett. They don't know the "right things" to say to get results. Maybe you could tell him some avenues of approach on this particular subject?

I know for a fact that the dealership I got my TL from WILL NOT fix any WDP mismatch acura cars. They'll simply tell you "every WDP cars are like that...can't fix it blah blah blah....." or buy another color model.

All the salemans are chinese and they will not give in that easy unless they know you're rich.

Thats a shame that they will not try to fix it.
When I took mine in, I was very calm about it. I pointed to the bumper area and the advisor said "well, white car, yellow bumper, I'll be right back"
He came back, and told me to get my stuff I needed out of the car and he would get me into a loaner TL. It took a long time for them to get it looking better, but to me it was worth the wait.

My dealer is in Charlotte, NC

Sorry to hijack - I started a thread on a similar topic here: https://acurazine.com/forums/showthread.php?t=170131 but can everyone on this thread list in the thread that I started what dealer you bought your car from and if they are the dealer who had the car repainted (city and state too please). I am trying to figure out if one area of the country is more likely to do this repaint.
