Another update, Alex said the license plate trim is chromed and waiting on color. He just wanted to wait to get my feed back on the other items first.

Alex just emailed me. He said that I should get the parts today AND he is posting pics of my stuff on his website. He'll send me the link when he has them uploaded. Looks like I'll be heading home early! I may start putting on the rear emblems tonight. YAY!

Front bumper removal....? Any words of wisdom ?

That's my main caution when removing the bumper. That, and be careful when putting it back on that you align the bumper mounting tabs that are at the bottom-centermost of the bumper correctly. You'll see these little flanges that stick out from the chassis that are for those tabs to mount to (with rivets). It's easy to misalign those if you're not watching, so be careful for that. If you put all your rivets and bolts back on before you mount those tabs and you misaligned those tabs, you'll have to undo all those to get the tabs lined up. You'll see what I mean when you get in there....
Good luck.

This is very good info - thank you so much!
The tips really do help as I know ahead what I have to watch out for - I think I'm going to give it a go at month end (vacation week). That way I'm not rushed ...... as much as I want to see my Aspec kit installed it may wait a few more weeks .....

On a side note (OT), I'm about to go out and swap my rear sides and take the doggone red hoods off of the Kennedy mod (seat memory). I am still riding around with the letters red because I forgot to take them off! Hahahahaha!

No garage........I don't need a week to do the grill work - was just saying I had the week off so - that would be a good time for me to do the grill, the fogs and install my Aspec pkg.
I'd have all day to go at it and not be rushed.....

Are you still out there swapping those side markers????
Wow even I could do it faster than that - LOL Must be the slowness of the NBP...
Us ASM and WDP guys would have had them in and pics posted within 15 minutes.

ok guys, I got the black chromed pieces and have taken pics of them. I'll post them later on.
First, the pieces look great. The A-Spec emblem turned out the best as far as color depth. I think that many people may like them. For me they need to be darker though. This is primarily due to darksom1's influence in pulling me deaper into the darkside.
It's going to be hard to get good pictures to accurately show how good they look. Black chrome is not easy to photograph. Brett, I may photochop your grill pic and use that as a comparison so people can see the difference easier.

WDP was the only color that I looked for from TL when I bought it. I was gonna buy something else if I couldn't find the exact match in my area. (WDP/Ebony/6MT)
well, maybe because I had NBP CL-S. <--- added

That's great (well, for me not them) I kinda remember those tabs from the rear.
I had to remove that a little bit to do my tail lights. They were a bit tricky --Thanks Killa......

In all honesty....?
I'm afraid it would chip and look like crap after a while.........
I'm hopefully going to swap to the TL-S 07 grill..........
I like the look of the black (yes, I said it) you almost can't even see it in there....like hiding
and I like them all to match - lowers and upper.....

Lighter colors generally don't show good like that. That is what makes people misunderstand a nice mod like the one that Brett has. I mean, think about it. How many black cars do you see with the blacked out grill look? Not one of those gets bad marks for the mod right? It really looks good the way he did it, but it is overpowering in that lighter shade. What do you think about that Brett? Is that what you get that people get from your car's mod?
For my personal taste, I think my mod makes the car look more like a luxury car than a sports car. I feel the WDP with black grills (and black mud flaps) give the car a bit of an identity crisis: "Am I a sports car or am I a luxury car?" I believe I talked about this earlier, but if I wanted a sports car, I would have bought something that was obviously a sports car, like a 350Z, my favorite reasonably priced sports car on the market. A TL (at least to me) isn't a sports car, so I'm not all that interested in making it sportier looking.
Now keep in mind I'm just talking about for my own car. I love all these performance mods that people have done on here; it just isn't practical for my application.

I think Brett's chrome and white trims look hot on WDP. The white out and the cleared lights do take it up to a luxury look. More refined than sporty......
Once I added the TL-S tails/sides mine took on a more sports car look - and by adding the Aspec body kit I'm thinking that's the direction I am going to end up in anyway.....
The car is so silver - meaning the satin trim and the silver paint - I like the black grills to break it up a bit in the front. At one time I thought of getting things chromed like Brett but after careful consideration I'm thinking my satin finish suits me well against the silver.
Then there is those gray sections of the Aspec which I think match the gray section of the grill area too - I think painting that area body color will throw off the Aspec lip.
I have OCD....lol

I think this grill coloring sort of mod I did would look worst on "colored" cars, like the red and blue -- and probably looks like straight $hit on gold. I think that would look pretty cheesy. Then again, I haven't seen it either. The NBP pretty much comes in all-matching fashion bone stock from the lot, since the grills match, and that's a damn good look.

I've been thinking about starting a new thread with a link to the photos I took yesterday, but I'm not sure I can stomach any more comment about how "that's a lot of wood" and "dude, you should have left your grill white."
For fun, here is that link: BAM

As it turns out, I'm not sending any of the pieces back to alex. The depth of the color that is shown really depends on the lighting situation. It was evening last night and the look indoors and out were just not what I wanted. However when I just came home to ship them back, I took them outside one last time and oh my god. In direct sunlight they are SWEET. Here is a couple teaser pics. I'll take more later on when I can get the proper lighting.
Indoor pics of all pieces, keep in mind that even indoors it looks better than what the picture shows:
Now for the outdoor sweetness in full sunlight and it looks better in person:

I will have 1 extra piece once everything is on my car. The '07 version of the hood trim will be left over that I can get rid of.
edit: btw, I did take a look underneath the bumper before coming back into work from lunch. It's tight but it is possible to remove the grill trimmings without removing the bumper. However I want to do the '07 gill mesh to the '06 mod as well, so my bumper will be coming off.
So much to do and so little time! The suspension will get here tomorrow.

Buda, those really look nice man! That second pic was hard for me to get the complete visual cuz some guy in your neighborhood came by and grabbed it just as you were taking a picture! Sheesh! LOL!
Hey, can you hold them up against the car please, at least one in the front so I can see the contrast?

I'm actually got the wing and emblem mounted on the car. Working on the hood trim but ran into a snag and was hoping brett was online since he had replaced his. Can't do the shield trim on the bumper until I take it off. But the wing is accessible as previously mentioned. Although I've scraped the sh*t out of my left arm.
Brett if you are around PM me. That darn plastic tab holding the 5th mounting screw on does have an access hole for the side toward the engine. What did you use to go in behind the hood latch brace to push that plastic tab? Man they could have made that easier to get to!
