Walked out to find this at 6am...

Some asshole sideswiped me and ripped off the whole front bumper- the pics suck cause its my camera phone. Its at the parking lot at the barracks where I live- Apparently it happened at about 530am and I came out a little after 6 to go to work, 2 guys saw it happen, some guy in a truck just pulled out of the spot next to me and cut it too sharp and took off. Some people are just dicks. They gave me and the cop a description of the truck that did it... Ill get to that later. Still waiting on the estimate from State Farm.

Heres the damage:
how it looked when I found it-

heres some pics from later when the sun came out:

needs a new headlight and bumper for sure, couldnt tell if the fender was bent too much out of shape to salvage, but it might be. It also ripped the wires out of my lazer sensor that was mounted to the bumper, which is $120 from Escort...

I had been looking around base all day for a truck matching the description, but when I got back to the barracks this afternoon look what I found parked about 4 spots away from where my car was this morning:

So I got his plate # and called the cop that filed the report so everything should work out soon.

How much do you guys think I can get a set of headlights for? I want 2 new ones anyway.

Good luck turbo!!!
seems like everything is under control.

you didnt give us a description of the truck, so I'm assuming that the truck pictured is a match or close to it.

Good luck with this! It's great that at least you found the likely suspect who did this. Some people these days

Wow, I know how this feels, had my previous car's front bumper damaged the same way but I somehow did not notice it until i started driving and heard this weird sound of something scratching and all of a sudden I saw half my bumper fly off the car! I never found the person that did it but I live in a court, but i strongly believe my neighbor did it because his car was mysteriously gone for a few days..

Damn sorry to see that bro..im sure everything will work out fine. If you want new lights from acura they are pricy. You can look for vendors in this site one of them who i consider talking to is JnC he is very popular in this site..

Yeah I was gonna PM JnC once I get the insurance situation figured out cause his lights look sweet. Hopefully they just cut me a check and let me fix it myself. The truck in the pic is definitely the one that hit me.

I hate ebay lights but has anyone tried these? They come with new D2S bulbs:

WOW! I hope you can still somehow prove the truck did that damage. Im sure the owner will deny it. Especially since he already hit and run your car.

If you've still got your car I'd like you to park right next to him. That would definetely give him a scare. Does the owner of the truck know you know?

And you are VERY lucky that you got the guy that did this. Don't let him off easy on this one, as there are plenty of hit and run victims, including me, that would love to know who hit out stuff.

Not trying to bad mouth any one else here or their product but the quality of materials used for those aftermarket lights is not the same as OEM. The materials are flimsy compared to stock plus more importantly the chrome on the projector's reflector bowl is not as smooth and reflective as OEM. I have worked on a few sets that were sent to me by owners who bought them cause of the price.

The seal and fitment is so bad that I dont even guarantee them against leak/fogging, once modified, as I usually do with my OEM ones.

I just wanna get this over with and get my car fixed cause it sucks driving with my bumper hanging half off the car. Hopefully I come out on top cause Im trying to get his insurance company to give me the check and let me fix it myself...

You chased someone on public streets?

Shoulda just gotten the plate and called the cops, the last thing we need is an amateur car chase.

It was light traffic on a rural freeway. It only lasted a few minutes before the cops caught up to us. He never went above 70. This douche had a suspended license and no insurance.

Well I got 3 estimates today ranging from $1600 to 2100, but I have an appt with his insurance company tomorrow so thats the real test. Im sure hes gonna try to lowball me but Im not gonna let that happen. Today I also noticed that my wheel got scratched too... Ill let you guys know tomorrow what happens. Oh yeah theres a shop here that has the same bumper already painted my color and they said I could have it for $200, the only bad part is its got a few scratches and it doesnt say 'acura' in the center... I can live with that if the ins company makes the check out to me. Ill just put it on myself and buy some nice headlights

Well I got $1400 from allstate, not bad cause he just wrote the check to me so I dont have to take it to a shop. Im happy with it, I bought a bumper today for $200 and now I just need a few small things, Ill get them from acuraoemparts.com. I just need to fine someone with a used drivers side headlight

Glad to hear it all worked out in 3 days and not stretched out like some of the horror stories I've heard. How much was the timing belt kit shipped from Kaleb? I'm quickly approaching the 105k marker...
