Update on my 06 RRP

Hello all, I just wanted to post some pics of what I've updated. I went with the depo side markers. Slight tint on the tail lights (very light). I ordered 35 % cause I didn't want it very dark, but they are a little too light...oh well, and I should do the same to the head lights as well. I got some vinyl from stickercity and blacked the grill and back strip above the license plate. I haven't decided what to do with the emblems yet, I was thinking of debadge the TL and ACURA and blacking out the emblems, but I couldn't get the emblem off in the back and the front seems even harder.

Let me know what you think, I know after looking at the pics, I should go with some darker wheels...idk?

i actually like completely stock wheels on the RRP the most, but they look good on every color

some ideas: color match the outside portions of the grille, and leave the crossbar and inside of bumper blacked out, and if you dont have to have a front plate, take it off! i would love to not have to have a front plate, your driving around with a T on your bumper

also, dont tint the front headlights, color matched or even cleared/blacked out will look much better

I wanted to take off the front license plate holder, but when I bought it it was aready rubbing into the bumper and has left a gash/scrape. I'm afraid I would have to replace the bumper. Thanks for your input and new ideas.

The top and bottom were fairly easy and straight forward. The middle was a pain because of all the curves which made it difficult to stretch around. i had to improvise and do it in half sections which left lines were they to sections met. Not too noticable unless your close up. I'm a novice at this sort of thing, so you don't have to be a pro to do this. The main problem I had was once I got the vinyl on, when I cut the excess off I would cut a little to close and leave a little gap. If I were to do this again, it would be easier. Not the middle tho...lol.

Looking good man! I'm a huge fan of RRP.

I'm glad you stuck with a lighter % tint for the tails. They aren't murdered but aren't stock either. I like

Personally I think the stock wheels are awesome. If I were you I would save my pennies and get the A-Spec kit. Even though it's pricey compared to other mods, it changes the whole presence of the car. To me it's ~$750 well spent

But yes, I think darker wheels would look better on your car. Not black but maybe gunmetal. Type-S tails and 18" Gunmetal A-Spec wheels would look sick on your car.

A-Spec kit would look great.
TL-S tails have always looked the best on this color, IMO. I think they would flow well with the vinyl trim.
Paint the stockies gunmetal.

I like it so far for sure. Where did you get that super light tail light tint? I like it a lot. I've been looking into doing something different with my tails and was thinking 07-08 base ones and tinting them somehow.

Thanks for the responses guys. I purchased the tail light tint of eBay. He had 20% or 35 % and you had to say you wanted 35% when you order. Here's a link. It took me 15-20 mins and it was my first time.

I really want the A-Spec kit, but I'm leaning toward lowering it with coilovers first because I'm afraid it'll look funny with an A-Spec kit not being lowered. I just spent nearly $400 on brakes, so it's all going to have to wait .

A-Spec won't look bad without a drop:

Then again it would look better with a drop

Oh Man! You are twisting my arm man! I'll have to see if I can't save some $$ before the sale on the A-Spec ends. Thanks for the pics.

I agree-Aspec Kits are almost a must now for a base TL (IMO).
