I have to park my car in an underground garage since I live in an apartment. I think I'm going to check under the hood regularly from now on. Thanks for bringing this to my attention!

That's crazy!! At least they turned into mice pancakes before they wrecked havoc on your wiring!
And holy fucking christ I would have died...literally...if I had opened my hood and saw that big ass snake. I HATE snakes!! That's just not cool...fuck.

It's typically the warmth that draws the mice (rodents) into the engine bays.
We owned a house for a short period of time that had mice - but only during the winter. We set traps for weeks and probably caught 18-20 of them. The can squeeze through the smallest holes / crevices and are nasty disgusting creatures.
I also did battle with a chipmunk and the engine bay of my 94 Accord. Never saw him in the engine bay but did see him running from the car. It all started with a burning wood smell coming through the vents. When I openned the hood to investigate, what did I see??? Acorns!! - all over the valve covers / exhaust manifold. I spent an hour with a shop vac on a couple of occasions.

chipmunks...they are so cute...until....
i stepped on one in my driveway. i didnt' put my full weight down on the little guy. i didnt' see him. i was walking to my car and i took a step and thought i stepped on a rock, but realized it felt a little soft. i looked down and saw this little chipmunk body sticking out from under my foot!! i jumped back and the little guy popped up ran under my car into the neighbor's yard to play with the rest of his little friends. WTH??!!![what](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/what.gif)
reminds me of a thread that someone started last summer about stink bugs in his car. maybe we need to start a thread dedicated to critters (mice, snakes, cats, chipmunks...stinkbugs, spiders...etc.) found in our cars (?) just for kicks and giggles.
GP-another thought on your mice...traps and poison pellets in your garage. we have used poison pellets that the mice eat that causes them to get really thirsty...then they leave to go find a water source...they die outside. at least it wasn't a rat. i have a story about that one too (not really related to a car, but pertains to its entry via the garage into our house). it was huge!

For those of you who didin't know animals love our cars, its a good source of heat for them.
I have found anything from squirrels, mice, rats, spiders, snakes and cats.
Cabin air filters ,make sure you keep those clean, they love to make nest in those things.Mostly probably because they are soft they trap all kinds of good soft things and good food source lots of seeds.

Holy mouse trap!! That shit is gross!!
What a pain in the ass! I HATE mice/rats!!![ugh](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/ugh.gif)
I'm checking under the hood of my car EVERYDAY from now on!
Good luck with the cleanup GP! After you finish scraping the BBQ mouse off your engine bay, check your wires and cabin filter to make sure no damage was done.
Some rat poison pellets should get rid of any mice that are still hanging out in your garage. More efficient and less messy than mouse traps, but conventional mouse traps are still lss messy than the one under your hood!

The sound wasn't a supercharger, it was 100 mice screaming
I had one dead mouse that I found under the factory filter the day after I bought the car. It looked as if it hadn't been dead for too long. I feel for you!!
Must be cold in Toronto

Just cleaned the manifold and battery cover with Simple Green and a sponge.
No more fur or guts, but there's still the "greasy" area the exact same shape as where the mouse lay.
Ewwww.......
Need something better than Simple Green to remove that "grease".
Oh, and the smell has gotten better but still stinks

This thread gives me the chills, I'll forever be paranoid if there's a mouse/animal riding along with me everywhere I go. Just thinking about a mouse in my car is disgusting, I can't imagine mice or any other creature for that matter.

That's pretty bad. I have a problem with a cat walking all over my car and laying on top. I wonder if I can somehow trap it under the hood to kill...I mean, get rid of it...lol. Maybe entice it with some dead rats...lol

I've heard stories about that, but never actually seem it with pictures until now.
Check your home for mice just in case, since you put your garbage in your garage.
Toronto was cold few weeks back and your engine was the only warm spot they can find, but i have no idea how those mice squeeze their way in the engine bay and trapped themselves there though.....

dude that just made me throw up in my mouth, then i looked a the pictures again to make sure what i was seeing was real and i threw up in my mouth again. hate you for posting those lol. Anyways id check the engine to make sure they didnt chew anywires or anything else. As far as getting rid of the grease where the mice died, i would paint it or wet sand it a little. If that were me id just buy new ones, because opening the hood everytime it would be a nasty reminder of why you painted it/wet sanded it begin with.
Could you only imagine now if you were on a diet like innaccurate and had some of those panels removed. All those little guys could be dead inside your car. Gives me chills just thinking about it

You've seen these threads before, right:

https://acurazine.com/forums/car-parts-sale-361/2000-tl-forsale-173982/ DIY
I guess it's pretty common for mice to get up there and set up housekeeping.![Shrug](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/shrug.gif)
Doubt if they planned on a BBQ though.
