The Type-S in storage pics (iraq)

Well the sad day came a week and a half ago when I had to put my baby doll into storage. Unfortunately they didnt allow us to put the cars on blocks while in storage so if I have flat spots than I will just get paid back for them. I waxed the hell out of her and also put silica gel packets everywhere. Disconnected the battery and put a lock on the acura car cover. Oh yeah and no I didnt leave my parking brake on.. See ya in 15 months baby!~!

I see a Screamin' Chicken RSSI! I assume that's from one of your previous tours.

Who you with now if you don't mind me asking? 101 doesn't have any detachments in Germany now do they? (I've been ETS'd for quite a while now...)

Well Uncle Sam ships one vehicle overseas free for us soldiers. Would cost around 1,000-1,500 though if you had to pay.

Thanks

Haha yeah I was at campbell from 05-07 and Iraq from 05sep-06sep with them. Was in 1BCT, 2-327 infantry, No Slack. I am now in the 2nd SCR (stryker cavalry regiment). Third deployment for me now...

Thanks man, welcome to the forums. Check out some of the other threads I have started to see it with my 19's on there. Actually have done a lot more to it than meets the eye. Funny thing is I did everything to it still in 2006 when I picked it up.

Good luck to you...I did my time in Iraq back in GW1 1991. Different ball game though. Spent time in 82nd as an FO with 4/325 airborne infantry reg Ft Bragg, and in 3rd AD in Friedberg 17 klicks outside of Frankfurt.

If you PM me your address when you get a chance, I'll check with my local VFW to see if we have any more any soldier boxes. They were asking me if I had any more names a couple of weeks ago. You prob don't need anything, but your boys might.

Thanks a lot, I appreciate that. Once I get settled in and get an address I will do that. I am thinking about going to bragg next. I get a lot of mixed reviews of that place.

Yeah man, best wishes to you and everyone else over there!
I really like everything you've done to your TL-S, and enjoyed seeing those videos of it on the Autobahn.
When those 15 months are up and you get to drive her again, it'll be just like getting into a brand new car! And it'll have really low miles for an '07 also.

Anyway, make the best of what you've got, and know that we're prayn' for your safe return!

The front looks really good with the Euro plate. Something that we're not used to seeing.

I was just showing my roommate this and he was saying to make sure you put in some Stabil or other product since it will be sitting for so long .

What an excellent question indeed. Ok so I called Acura before I came to Germany to ask this question, they gave me the number to Alpine who manufactures the system. So I called them and they said not possible, the system is for north america only.

So, I stopped by a local honda dealership in Germany and was looking in their show room at the Honda Accord (Euro accord is american acura TSX) and noticed it had a very identical looking navi system. Popped the trunk and sure enough the drive is in th same spot. The dealer let me take the disc out and try it in my car. Only problem is that the euro disc was one year older than the america disc that came with my TL-S so it said on the screen upon boot-up that the disc inserted is of a lower version than the system. So my summary is that I think it will work once a newer euro version of the disc comes out. A friend of mine Llando is bringing his TL-S to germany (army also) and is going to track this down more while I am deployed. The discs are identical looking, made by the same company and everything.
