It's all about the design of the wheel and I guess the design isnt concave enough. My 18x8.75 +20 xxr wheels cleared no problem.

made some Red Stripe Tails

got bored Sunday so i decided to cut open my spare set of Tails i had laying around. last time i used black silicone. i also heard someone used Butyl like we do for the headlight to seal them so i gave that a try this time. see how well it holds.

new Coilovers

car is back on Stocks for the winter. Put the Cosmis wheels up for sale but couldn't find any buyers so i traded my wheels for BC extreme low Coils. Spring rates 22k front/ 26k rear. now i have my old BC coils up for sale. no other updates really. lol trying to sell these coils and come up with some money for Work wheels or some kind of Real wheel setup for 2018.

What Works were you looking at getting?

I'd be all for getting those coils if the spring rate wasn't so freaking high. Lol.

Anything 2-3 piece lol. I really want CR2P so that i know I’ll have wheels that clear BBK but by the time I get the money for it I’ll be missing part of show season by the time I get these so I’m going to try my luck at finding something cheap I can rebuild.

And my old BC setup is for sale lol. Spring rates aren’t that high. Just 12/10k

First set of "Real" wheels

sup guys! so i came across a killer deal for CCW LM20 wheel faces. Guy local to me sold me all 4 faces and a 18x7 inch Barrel for $150! Cant beat it! I thought it was a joke at first or there was a catch but no the deal was real lol. So over the course of 2.5 months I've rebuilt these wheels from scratch ordering parts from VR Wheels and Wheelflip. Barrels, Lips, Hardware, Center Caps, whole 9 yards. These wheels were originally on a Subi so the Centerbore was a smaller than the TL and the 2 of the faces were a different color. No big deal i wanted to have the powder coat redone anyway.

I took the Faces to a local machine who bored out the center of the wheels to match the TL (64.1 mm). They did an amazing job. Wheels fit on the hub perfectly after that. Oh another thing. All 4 faces were hi-disk so they cleared my Brembos NO problem. best part. lol. Got the wheels back from powdercoating just in time for me to put them together, Seal, get tires mounted and alignment so that i could make it to HDAY in Maryland this past weekend. i had minimal sleep during the week leading up to Hday including being up for 38 hours with only 1 hour of sleep between Saturday and Sunday. helped my boy finish his wheels also (OZ Mito type 3s w/ hidden Hardware). putting the finishing touches on his car Saturday night. finished at like 1AM. then left at 3AM to start our 4 hour Drive to Hday right after. Then turned around and came back that same day. one hell of a week lol.

But with 7 inch barrel and 3 in lip in the front and 6 inch barrel and 4 inch lip in the rear. my Wheel specs came out to 18x10 +18 and 18x10 -9. </font>

Color change

I've finally worked up the nerve to wrap my car. I've been planning this for over 2 years. Knew I wanted to do this on my own so in that time I watched so many YouTube videos and studied forums for tips.

Went with Avery Brand wrap as it's know for being user friendly and best for beginners. Luckily the exact color I wanted was in Avery.

I started this a week before a show and it took every minute of free time for a week to finish this including an all nighter Saturday into Sunday morning. Finishing and driving to the show that afternoon lol. Every week day as soon as i got off work, I was in the garage working until 3am or so. But the end result was well worth it and extremely satisfying that I did it on my own with the help of a couple friends for the larger sections like the quarter and the bumpers.

Had a buddy of mine take care of body work to smooth out the quarters and fenders.

Real challenge was nearly taking apart my whole car in a one car garage lol

Finished!

Wheels back on. Back in January i Re-sized the rear with .5in smaller lip, increasing the offset so I would run a little less camber. Hoping to solve my issue of constantly cracking barrels. So far. So good.

If you would have met up with me, you could have gotten some proper shots. Lol. Looks good though. Not the color I thought you would go with though.

Thanks man! i really wanted something that stood out and not a common or different shade of a factory color. i really like the battleship grey color but its been done a few times on the TL already and lots on other cars lol.

2020 update.

It’s been a while since my last update. I got rid of the CCWs last year. Barrels were trash! I traded for one of my favorite wheels. Work VSXX. I ran them for the last couple months of the season. Currently rebuilding because the specs weren’t where they needed to be. I’ve been waiting on my faces for 2 months to be finished. Dam CoronaVirus put a stop on dam near everything. But when it’s all said and down they’ll be 18x10 F and 18x11 R.

Due to CoronaVirus it’s pushing all our cars shows back so that just gives me more time to add more mods

Added the following:
Endlessrpm carbon Fiber shark mouth and black diamond seat covers
RV6 Strut bar.
And I just finished my Rolls Royce headliner and started putting everything in last night.
