Then and Now

On December 16th, my dad's 2004 TL (no NAV) was parked on the street and got hammered by some idiot in a Jeep Grand Cherokee. Thankfully, she was decent enough to stop, ask for witnesses, and leave her information. Now, just under two months of body shop work paid off and this is the result. WARNING...THE FOLLOWING PHOTOS ARE NOT FOR THE WEAK. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!

Glad everything worked out.

Now its time to wash the car. The car looks like it was cleaner when it was hit.

Man, that TL was f-ing mangled! How fast was that driver going when she hit it? I'm guessing there was a fair amount of damage to her car, which had to be part of her reasoning to stop and get/leave contact information.

I think the grand total came close to 20 large. And her car got pretty messed up, too. I believe her airbag went off.

That's a nasty hit. Does the trunk get any water inside after it rains?

Only 32,800 on the clock and KBB says it's private party worth is $25,000 in 'excellent' condition and $24,something in good condition.

Holy smokes. That thing was messed up. $20k - my gosh, that's even more incredible than the accident. Did it mess up anything frame/control wise, like suspension or something. New muffler(s)? or just a new end pipe and chrome tip? Crazy.

(Sidenote: You have the RL and your Dad has a TL. Interesting)

Whole new suspension components, wheel, and tire on the left side. Also a new muffler and pipe end cap. I also believe they cut the unibody and replaced it just fore of the rear wheel on that side.

Reply to Sidenote: I have neither...the RL is my dad's and was the replacement for the TL. It (the TL) is for sale if anybody's interested. I believe he's asking $20,000; it has 32,900 miles and has been meticulously maintained. No Navigation, though.

They arent an idiot if they actually stop and leave their info. I give her a LOT of props for doing that.
