Suede headliner

Sup folks,

Since you don't see many interior pics I'm posting up my perferated suede headliner in my 05 TL. The headliner, slider, sunvisors, and pillars are all wrapped. I did this last year and plan on doing my door inserts and seat inserts. Enjoy!

I wish I had thought about perforated fabric before I did mine. Very nice!

looks real nice man, I would like to get that done but I wouldn't do just my roof, I would also do my center console arm rest, in the middle of my seats like an evo, and a little on the door panel somewhere as well. haha well I dunno if I would do all that but I might...I do hate my seats and my center console arm rest.

looks clean... where did u get the fabric?? about how many yards?? i was actually gonna attempt that sometime this summer.. i hate the grey headliner.. as far as the seats and the door inserts is that the same process as the headliner as far as using spray glue.. i dont feel that it would hold up well due the constant use. the headliner gets no use.. also any tips or advice on while doing the headliner would be appreciated.. thanks..

Wow-very interesting. I would really like to see this in person. I kinda actually like the contrast of the grey handles, etc.

Very nice, perforated definitely adds a little touch to the detail. Any plans on getting the plastic pieces dyed? Its the only thing that kind of sticks out of place.

I'm still on the fence with this, but it certainly doesn't look bad to me...

Looks good...

I've been rocking Perf.Suede Headliner and door inserts for over a year... I think it's time for a change...

A shop would probably charge around $700-$1000

I plan on doing my doors and seat inserts. When I get more time and money.

The material I used is called Unisuede from YourAutotrim.com. I think I used 4 yards. The door inserts would be like the headliner but the seat you'd have to sew.

I wanted the contrast since the interior still had a lot of grey. If I had an ebony interior I probably would have.
Here's an Escalade I murdered out but he had a black interior.

Do you have to take the headliner out or can you do it in place with time and patience?

Looks very nice. Since I have black interior I'd def go the same route as that Escalade, perforated though.

To do it right I'd say you'd have to take out the headliner. It would actually be easier to do it that way than to try to do it in the car and you wouldn't be able to get to the slider.
It's not that hard to take the headliner out.

To do the seats, how would that work? I would like to do my side bolsters, but it is very hard to sew through leather. Any help would be great.

It's not hard to sew through the leather if you have the right machine and know what your doing. You would have to take the seat covers of the seat and take the covers apart.
You would be better off to take it to an upholstery shop.

That's fine as long as her machine is commercial grade and not a home machine and if she has experience with leather. Bolsters are harder because of the french seam. Car seats aren't the same as clothes.
I don't doubt your granny's abilities but I've seen and fixed many home jobs cuz they think they can re-upholster cuz they saw it on youtube.
I'm trying to save you some headache and $$.

i have been wanting to do this since I got the car. But it doesn't seem like it's gonna happen. Maybe my next car since the TL is for sale.
