Not a fan of the fake bokeh, mind you the bigger factor isn't the lens or where you stand, but whether you're shooting full frame or cropped.

Much harder to achieve car photography in cropped sensors.

WDP's are always nice tho

Nice pics dude. I'm not a huge fan of chrome either. But the price was right. A couple cans of plastidip and warmer weather will def fix it up..lol

Decent shots...some rules of thumb to go by:

- always use a tripod (the pic of the CGP TL-S above has camera shake)
- level the horizon (pics taken at an extreme angle aren't visually appealing)
- use the Rule of Thirds
- when taking a lineup shot of several cars, try to make sure they're spaced apart as evenly as possible
- be careful with the watermark/signature placement in photos...it should be always be tucked in the corner so it isn't a distraction

Thanks for critique and the compliments ...always room to improve and I left my tripod at home so I was trying to use my knee to minimalize camera shake. Also the extreme angle shot was a token to Gary since he couldn't make it and loves that angle. As I said to start as I take more pictures I am learning and hopefully progressing each time ...no one starts off a pro they become one. I hope to be one some day. Let the experimentation continue ...thanks again

That's exactly right. The only way to learn and get better is to keep shooting and experimenting. We were all n00bs at one time.

those are some shitty pics. i never understood why people watermark pictures and call it "photography" when it looks like a 10yr old took it with a $50 camera.

some constructive criticism:
- get a tripod, it'll help for steadying those shots
- ditto getting a book, or at least studying photog techniques. The rule of thirds will help you.
- weird angles were so 1999.
- double/triple check focus, and note which focus point the camera is using. After taking a picture, zoom in the area to see if it's sharp.
- learn the effects of shutter and aperture settings, and the effect of ISO settings on both.
- post processing can make bad pictures look awesome in some cases.
- dont go overboard with photoshop. Anyone familiar can tell all that lens blur is fake.
- open air shots at night are a bit difficult due to lack of light. Try a parking structure where you have a ceiling. If you have flash, you can bounce the flash off the ceiling and get lighting where it needs to go.

mainly focus/sharpness is what's lacking. Some whoring:

i still need to learn how to white balance a picture with multiple tinted light sources.

Before he put Lambo doors on the TL, he should have bought a new front side marker.

oh and you should not be shooting in Auto. Either Tv(Shutter Priority) or Av(Aperture Priority), or M(anual). Also shoot in RAW format.

tbh, Aperture Priority should be good enough, since you should be steadied on a tripod for a photo shoot like this with nothing moving. In this case I'd rather have direct control over Depth of Field.

btw, both those pictures I posted were processed with Light Room.

and to reiterate, the fake lens blur is a no no. Especially if you dont do what's in the windows (it's in focus) and other parts you missed. (between wheel spokes, etc). Stay away from the photoshop blur.

Selective coloring is great for drawing peoples' eyes to a feature in the photo, but at the same time, dont overdo it.

Thanks for the constructive criticism unlike some people:

But in terms of photoshopping or blur in particular I actually didnt add any on the latest pictures at all...all I did was balance the photo and polished the image at points.

And I am reading different manuals from either canon direct or some photography magazines to help with improving my shooting.

For the next shoot I will be using Av and I do have a tripod, I was just using auto as a way to begin as I am still constantly learning and trying to improve myself as a photographer/hobbyist

And the crazy angles were just for one person that's it otherwise I dont shoot those angles usually at all

I have lightroom and still learning how to post process within it. I have experimented with some photos but not to the point of wanting to share until I can sharpen that skill a lot more.

Overall like I sad before I shoot and I learn to improve for the next shoot....that's it (progress is key in my eyes)

ez12a listed some really good tips to start from.

Shoot in raw because it makes pp a lot easier.
Shooting in Av is great for stills
Shoot in Tv when your shooting action
When shooting in M mode use the exposure metering, try to dial it in the middle.
Tripod is a MUST when your shooting with longer exposures.

Since I got my 7d I never shoot in Green box. Sometimes when I'm out shooting I using Av or Tv because I don't want to miss a shot. I use Av because I can choose what f/stop I want it and it will choose the right shutter to get the shot. You don't always have the time to figure out settings, so thats why I use Av.

I only did those crazy angle that one time because Mike just put on new wheels, so I wanted to emphasize them a bit. If your going shoot at crazy angle don't go over board, just post one in the mix.

Here one I shoot the other night.

Camera Canon EOS 7D
Exposure 0.3
Aperture f/2.8
Focal Length 50 mm
ISO Speed 250
