justnspace 01-01-2012 08:44 AM

what are the perils of FWD?

I saw the curb!

TLtrigirl 01-01-2012 08:45 AM

awww, justn....:whyme:

hope you're ok...

did you mess up the "new" radiator?

TLDude876 01-01-2012 08:48 AM

Dibs on the headlights :wish: That sucks man, any suspension or frame damage?

justnspace 01-01-2012 08:57 AM

I want to thank each and every one of you who wish me well.
I'm am in perfect condition.
the only thing that is hurt is my bank account and the poor car.

cars can be fixed/be bought again.
People cannot.

As I was crying about my car, I realized that its just a material item that wont last on this earth.
I met this girl on Google+ who in 2009 beat cancer. She was just diagnosed with lung cancer and doesnt have much time left. She is happy with her life, and re-enforces positive thoughts. This just blew me away. I'm over here crying about a car while she is happy and hasnt even lived a long life.

I was coming home Thursday morning, and I was going to fast for a right hand turn.
I understeered right into a curb.
meaning the car went straight, instead of turning.

LOL! funny! that was first thing I thought too.
"MAN!!! I just replaced that radiator too!"

she is at the car hospital now.
waiting for the adjuster to estimate how much damage occurred.

GivatiTL 01-01-2012 09:02 AM

full coverage ... ?

justnspace 01-01-2012 09:03 AM

of course.

and to my eyes; Airbag, airbag sensor, seatbelt sensor, front bumper, radiator.
maybe about 5K in damages.

no telling what they will find when they lift the car up.

TWiSDiT 01-01-2012 09:05 AM

dude, glad you're okay Justin!

6SPD_TWINZ 01-01-2012 09:09 AM

justnspace 01-01-2012 09:10 AM

I have till tuesday to decide.

TLDude876 01-01-2012 09:48 AM

I say go with the TYPE S front

TecSavi 01-01-2012 10:06 AM

Glad to hear you are ok, thats the most important thing. These things suck but I'm glad you have put them into perspective. Time to make lemons into lemonade and get the Type S front put on.

guitarplayer16 01-01-2012 10:17 AM

damnit *cringes*

Sorry to hear buddy.

Glad you're alright and she's getting fixed.

Type-S upgrade!

SharksBreath 01-01-2012 10:23 AM

sorry Justin...

hope everything works out in your favor and I'm glad you're ok! keep your head up man, it'll get better!

TheDingo 01-01-2012 10:53 AM

Man, it hurts to look at those pics. The best thing is that you can joke around about it. I'm glad you're okay. It sucks that it happened and there's really nothing else to do but go forward from this point and keep it positive.

proimport 01-01-2012 10:59 AM

o sh!t sorry about ur ride glad to see ur ok

CLtotheTL32 01-01-2012 11:26 AM

Damn Justin, sorry to see man. BUT like you said, a car can always be replaced.

I wish you the best with having the car repaired

djmanu 01-01-2012 12:06 PM

definitely a BANG. good thing you are okay though.

ggesq 01-01-2012 12:18 PM

Damn Justin. Glad you and others around you (if applicable) were not hurt. Good luck w/ the repairs.

Joneill44 01-01-2012 12:37 PM

Good to see your ok. Your UA7-almost could be one step closer with the front bumber.

acura_dipset_tl 01-01-2012 12:51 PM

Glad to hear that your ok, and in good spirits. I guess now on the bright side you can get an type-s or 07-08 base front courtesy of the insurance company.

imj0257 01-01-2012 03:15 PM

Ouch. At least you are ok

Good luck with the repairs. Did you see something blurry in your vision? Sometimes when I stretch after sitting still for a while I see little fuzzy sparkly things. I call them eye crabs. Definitely make you blind for a sec or two.

Otacon 01-01-2012 03:55 PM

Geez dude, glad you're ok. Go for the Type S front.

vinhdzn 01-01-2012 05:29 PM

sorry about the car man, but Thank God you're alive and healthy!

callahan 01-01-2012 06:09 PM

Glad your ok, might as well upgrade while u have the chance.

JTS97Z28 01-01-2012 06:18 PM

Damn sorry to see that man. Hey just out of curiousity from what you can see is the only damage cosmetically the front bumper? From what I can see it seems like everything is nice and intact including, fenders, headlights, hood etc etc.
Is the car driveable right now or did you nail the curb hard and mess up the wheels and suspension?

I agree with others a Type S front bumper would look real nice. Only thing is if you do that your gonna have to convert to a Type S headlight as well as I think it would look kind of goofy to have Type S front end, but then the chrome headlights (and 04-06 style ones at that).

Acura_Dude 01-01-2012 06:20 PM

The pics...:omg:

Noooooo:sad: At least you're ok. I'm sure your car will be fixed asap. It's just a waiting game now...:what:

huystAr 01-01-2012 06:34 PM

O_O that really sucks! do the conversion!!

AnthraciteAspec 01-01-2012 06:53 PM

Damn, well at least you are ok. I say upgrade to base 07/08 front because the aspec looks better. Well thats what I would do.

ArthurL 01-01-2012 07:01 PM

Sorry about the car, but glad you're okay. I'd say UA7 base bumper w/ an A-Spec kit :D.

I hate cars 01-01-2012 07:07 PM

Wow, glad you're ok.

E-brake next time lol.

Once she's up and running again, go a turn firmer on the rear Konis (you have Konis, right?)

Good luck with it. I know the feeling.

A SiQ TL 01-01-2012 07:14 PM

Sorry to hear about this bro. I was waiting for this thread. I heard about this in WEDT. Glad you are OK. Might as well see how much the Type S upgrade will cost you. I'm hoping you don't have any frame damage. Good luck. Get her fixed, then put on the goodies you already ordered for her. :toocool:

I drove, so I'm assuming axles were intact. I peeked underneath the car, everything seems intact.
wont know until adjuster comes and tells me whats good.

It should be a different story next time. With the bigger RSB and the rears set firmer than the front, the rear should rotate a little when you hit the limit.

It sucks the airbag deployed as well.

I know that's not what you want to talk about right now though. That car looks super clean from what I can see. It doesn't look like a daily driver. Too many clean places that even a well taken care of daily should be dirty.

FWIW, I really like the front end it has on it.....pre-wreck of course lol. That's a very nice looking TL. This was with the NT05s on?

justnspace 01-01-2012 07:47 PM

I believe the Nittos were cold!! it was a short ride home, air pressure probably 33-34!!!

and thats what makes it worse or more fun depending on how you look at it; It isnt a daily!
