MATTE BLACK! Yes!
It definitely looks good.
I'm happy you went with the Matte Black A-Spec.

As for your tails... if you get the base-tails I say make them similar to what Mike had them as.

If im not mistaken. because he's gonna wet sand it, your going to need to constantly keep a coat of polish and wax on there. I think.

^ yah the "buff" is just to clean it up (which makes it glossy) but once that "buff" wears off, your cars gonna be flat white. I have nothing against it. its just going to be high maintanace

Buffing and polishing is done to remove all sanding marks from de-nibbing and finessing the paint. The finish will not just turn dull and flat, it will stay glossy. That's assuming the paint is well taken care of. Reading your post seems like your talking about old school lacquer paint that needs to be buffed to bring out the gloss. Current urethane clears used in quality auto painting are high solids, high gloss, and very durable. Should be shine'n right out of the paint booth.

Any white or black car for that matter is going to be high maintenance.

I'm saying it's not going wear off and turn flat. Flat really describes an appearance way past dull, or a loss of gloss. Also I said assuming the finish is well taken care of, which of course means waxing and protection, ect.

If it actually turned flat, I would say they used crappy paint, or fucked something up.

So after he buffs it, say for instance he doesnt wax for a year. You mean to tell me at the end of the year that initial buff wont wear out? as in become "dull" just a tiny bit?

or how about this. OEM paint thats never been sanded and buff VS OEM paint thats been wet sanded and buffed. which will stay shiney longer?

Sure, with no proper care, any painted finish would do that, especially if it was outside a lot. I'm not trying to prove you wrong personally. Just your post seemed off base. An owner that does a 3 stage color change is going to take good care of the paint.

The main types of finish appearances are; high gloss, semi gloss, satin, flat. It's not going to go from one end to the other, by the buffing wearing off.

Hater? no, Im just making sure. I was planing on wet sanding a fender that I repainted to get it nice and smooth. I just wanted to make sure it wont be "extra" high maintanence.

With that color, you are gonna have to shoot the car at sundown or early morning when the sun comes up to get the true visual impact of the paint effect. High noon shots won't compliment the color. I really was considering that color as a top favorite when I was deciding on whether to sell or paint her. Sweet job!

One thing I respect about this guy is he's true to his word, especially on a project as big as a whole new paint job.

rondog hit the nail on the head, shoot it early morning

WTH?!?! I said I just wanted to make sure it wont "fade" or "dull" within time. I wanted to wetsand and buffout my fender (which was repainted) and I had my mind set that it will "dull" without taking good care of it. I like to take care of my car but taking care of a white car is alredy hard is it is. Now that powerflow confirmed it will last a good time (with quality paint) without high maintanence then I just might do it. IDK. If some of you guys know I did get into a small front end collision and had my front driver fender painted. So yes I was trying to make sure. And id like to say, You call that a fight? LOL

Oh and JJabber :tonguefaw

Pictures def don't do the paint justice. It looks like WDP from the pictures but in person you would notice the difference.
