After waiting a long 2 months, they're finally here!

I'll have to wait another week to get them on the car, but a week's not too much longer.

I'll be putting the Work's up for sale soon for anyone interested. They are Emotion CR Kai 18x8.5 +35 Matte Gunmetal.

Thank you sir. I can't wait to get them on. They weigh just under 18lbs each and they clear the brembos. 18x8.5 +40.

Just did a test fit, they clear the Brembos by about 2-3mm. Whew! Any higher offset would need spacers.

Question, do you guys think there's any risk to the calipers or wheels with such narrow clearance? The narrow clearance has me a little worried. The shop I bought the wheels through says that it doesn't matter, it either clears the caliper or it doesn't. What do you guys think?

OMG that's beautiful! It'll match perfectly with your paint! How did you do the LED DRLs? I don't want to have them on with the headlights. I just want to install the DRLs. Lol

Thanks, I was hoping for a nice contrast with the paint!

I didn't want to have to use resisters, so I bought a relay harness off Ebay, wired it directly to the battery and pulled the fuse for the stock DRLs. Only downside is the DRL light on the dash. There are harnesses available on Ebay that can be wired to the headlights so they turn off or dim when the headlights are turned on.

Can't wait to see it back on the ground with the new wheels!

Also for a 3rd opinion, I wouldn't worry about the brake clearance either. On my GS300, I had enough room to stick a business card between the caliper and the spoke of the wheel and didn't have any issues. Was scared, but ran fine.

I have heard that some people just swap calipers front and back for better clearance.

Should have been that way from the factory.

Hahaha, wheels are on, but the center caps didn't fit! So just sent those back yesterday. The new center caps should have been shipped yesterday. The extra 5mm going from +35 to 40 has given me the exact amount of room I needed so I'm going to lower the car a bit this weekend. So once the center caps are on then there will be pics with my wife's new dslr. For the meantime, I'll get a cell phone pic this afternoon.

No...
we'll wait on DSLR!

Yeah, you have to get the mid or highs...the flat ones hit the hub nut.

The flats looked so good too. Loving the new wheels tho. A lot lighter than the works and zero rubbing. I keep riding next to black cars so I can see the wheels spinning.

I'm excited to see how this new camera does. Full light sensing chip or something like that...?

It's got the bigger resolutions.

Did you use the glue for your center caps?

The hold up at this point is that the hubcentric rings seem to be pushing the center caps out ever so slightly and I'm worried about losing a $50 center cap while driving. Any one have any experience with this?

took a dremel or razor and thinned out the hub rings...basically cut it in half. if you got metal ones, you might be able to angle grind them down a bit.
Then I used rtv on the caps.

Take an orbital or belt sander and sand them down. May be easier and more even than a dremel. Post some pics, the suspense is killing us!

They're "duralumin", so had to put them on the grinder today.

Pick your battles. I pick very few because I lose most of the time, but sometimes you win by losing.

Still just cell pics but since it's taken forever to get these wheels and caps and you guys have been so helpful...! I'm in love with these wheels!

Planning to get some proper pics this weekend with the dslr. Thanks again for all the help guys.
