what scrapes is the underbody flap just under the nose of the car. its nothing major, but it annoys the heck outta me. most inclines at the places i frequent are steep enough that it always scrapes.

no im not lowered. the specs are 17x8 +35 offset. tires are stock size - 235/45 R17. ill take close up pics soon.

i wonder if you can cut that flap a bit w/out damaging anything else or having any safety hazards.

that would bring a whole new standard for lowering.

still loving your work, and your house too, that's nice.

from my understanding, the flap directs air to the lower intake snorkel (the TL is a bottom breather). removing that could affect airflow to the intake. as much as I myself want that removed, I see its function, and would rather keep it there.

thanks for the compliment

mine is mostly work. i work for Chase in the Bankruptcy department and it doesnt bode professionalism well driving to meetings, lunches and dinners in a suit and tie from an Evo.

my brother wanted a clean slate and change. plus he always wanted a white car (preferably a coupe like my old 3000GT). hence the change.

my 3000GT:

my old "GSR" evo :

my MR :

Damn, that Z is nice. Extremely nice rims!
Any mods on the EVO MR?

I agree, it's awkward going to formal places in an EVO or STI. I remember going to my grad party in my new STI last year. That felt really awkward cuz I was in suit and tie, and I was driving a loud ass modded STI. Don't get me wrong, the STI isn't a parent's present. The TL-S is but not the STI. =\ The STI is a project car where me and a couple friends chipped in to purchase. I just get to keep it before we started crazy modding it, and plus, the car is under my name as owner.

It looks great bro! BBS rims are very nice light weight rims. BBS rims with Yokos! I guess all those weekend photo ops left you with plenty of money to play with. I too got some new shoes, but no good pics of them... yet.

my MR had a full turboback (HFC, Tanabe DP, Apexi WS2 catback), P2R flash, Trust UICP, Sun Hyper voltage and open element intake. exterior mods were the JDM heads and tails. my brother had a more extensive list : RMR intake, full RMR IC piping, RMR DP, RMR testpipe, 5zigen catback, HKS circle earth ground kit, HKS Hipermax RS II coilovers.

at times i do feel bad we let the cars go, and I envy you still having the STi (and the nice photchop btw ). but the advantages, especially now with the TL's amazing (compared to the Evos) gas milage, outweigh a lot of the Evo's charm.

the BBS are from an Evo IX SE. the tires are the OEM Evo tires. they have a TON of grip, and have definitely changed the nature of the TL. they dont have the TPMS sensors (i just cancel the warning) and are pretty loud (used to it from owning two Evos). but the grip and cornering ability (as well as noticeably improved acceleration and braking) make it so much better.

the fact that they are the same size and dimension (except the wheel offset) on top of the fact that each wheel+tire combo is about 12 pounds lighter than the stock wheel+tire combo may attribute to the noticeable increase in performance. i even have noticed an average 3 MPG improvement (i have that chart where i keep track of my fuel consumption) in fuel economy since I bolted these on.

the only modification i needed to do was use the same lugs as used by an Evo (the TL's lugs are too skinny and dont seat in well). since i had a spare (including a lock) laying around it wasnt bad.

truly worth it
