Show Me Your Shift Knob!

Alright so I did a search and only found a few threads with not very specific results, but I wanna see what you guys are using in the way of aftermarket shift knobs

I'm looking for a new one for my type-s, it's an A/T if that matters, and just wanted to hear yalls suggestions/see pictures.

Thanks!

On my TL, I felt like the AT shifter was a bit too small

So.......I grabbed the extra one that came with my moms 01 MDX :tomato: I think it looks nice, its only slightly bigger, but just enough + its got those air holes on it

I'm sure that there are other threads dealing specifically with this, because I've posted mine before. But, here you go (6MT-Maven Mark One):

Funny I was putting my sunglasses there too, but they started to scuff the CF trim.

Like the shift knob too.

Yeah, my trim did scuff. :whyme:

But, I detailed it and buffed it out, believe it or not! Now, I broke down and got one of those plastic clips for the sun visor.

I like that skunk2 shifter.
its pretty sexy!!!!

Rafiton 07-05-2010 07:29 PM

Im from Puerto Rico and I have a friend that owns a machine shop and he made it for me. I took the picture of JP to him and told him I wanted something similar but with some CF inserts and the Type-s sign but with some color to it. And we went to a sticker shop and they did the design into some gel stickers.

At first I did think it was too big, but now I already got used to it and fits my hand perfectly.

That's one unique-attention-grabbing shift knob.

no its not...and there's no brand...but I got it on ebay so you know

craigtl35 07-09-2010 04:14 PM

how is this in manual mode? i know you have paddles, but does it affect it in any way? i need something to occupy my gf on long trips:tomato::tomato:

NAiL05 07-10-2010 12:21 AM

Dont hit it too hard. I had a few drifter friends that had it they would strip it clean off after a run or two.

dbqkqh 07-10-2010 07:52 PM

Is it easy to replace the shift knob?

Rafiton 07-10-2010 08:21 PM

You just have to unscrew the knob

Joe Foe from Buffalo 07-10-2010 08:38 PM

Steven Bell I like your Momo Combat Evo Shift Knob. I'm considering the carbon one. Did you find a place that sells them at a good price? Best price I can find is from this place for $83.

Steven Bell 07-11-2010 11:39 AM

^^^ Joe, I got mine on Ebay for about $88. So that price is good! Grab it....

chinkwapin 07-25-2010 04:38 PM

woot i was about to make my own thread about this, but i think this thread says it all! im leaning towards the skunk2 knob. is the falling boot a common problem when installing aftermarket shift knobs? and if it happens, how did u fix it?

falling boot was my fault.
you'll have more of an issue with getting the boot to fit properly.

what i did was file the inner part of the ring down a bit till it fit. except i filed a little too much on my last fitting. if you get it right it won't fall.

to fix it... just find a way to increase the size of the inner ring or the bolt/stud from the shifter.
