went to firestone yesterday evening to have the tech *hopefully* put the toe arm on each side in the rear. this is the arm i couldn't get in myself bc the cam bolts would not budge whatsoever. i went to honda to get the replacement cam bolts beforehand. i had a feeling we'd need them, and we did...also, if anyone is installing this rear camber kit, go to honda to get the bolts (part#52387sdaa00) they're $7 a piece VS acuras price of nearly $18 a bolt.

so he started with a hammer, wouldn't budge. so he broke out the sawjaw, cutting away at all sides trying to free it loose, nothing. got the air tools, trying to knock it loose from all angles, nothing.

he ended up cutting the bolt eventually, took him about 2 hours. the problem is that the bushing around the cam bolt is real thick compared to the actual bolt itself, thus causing it to become fused and seized more easily. he hacked the thing to death and i was impressed by his determination. i realize most people wouldn't even attempt to do this, but he managed to make it happen. he didn't even charge me for it but i told him i'd pay him after i come back and he gets the other side off, it's the right thing to do. bc we ran out of time, i'll have to go back next week when he has time to do the other.

with the one side installed, he adjusted the camber and toe on the right rear. I had already installed the camber arm on the left side, so he adjusted that too. the only thing left to install is the toe arm on the left side (the pain in the ass arm).

he spec'd everything that he could. the ingalls camber kit will adjust accordingly, just a twist on the threads till you find your mark. it's pretty cool watching it on the alignment machine.

idk how a lot of people got this install to work without a lot of labor. had i known it would have been this bad, i would have gotten a different kit if it made a difference. nonetheless, the ingalls kit is quality stuff. i'll be happy when we get the other side in and i'm done with it.
I'm pretty sure that in an earlier post I told you that that very same bolt would be trouble. I also told you that to free it up all you have to do is keep turning it, with the nut off, 5-6 times completely around with the ratchet. You have to to break up the rust and dried mud. Or else you can't even bang it out with a hammer. Turn, turn, turn, keep turning, more, one more time and *POP* the bolt should have slid right out. 10min. max. If you didn't try that then I am sorry that you had to pay the shop to hack up your suspension.

^dude I did...I swear! it would turn, like you said, but still wouldn't come loose. i'm going back next week to do the other toe arm, I guess I'll keep turning it until I hear that pop you're talking about. I'll let you know if it works. oh, and he didn't charge me anything for the labor, but I'm going to pay him something anyway next week when I see him.

thanks again for the advice.

Ok. Well at least they didn't charge you. Still sucks that they had to cut the arm off. Well, I mean, it won't be a pop, but it will feel like it is turning freely in the hole. I don't know why I said POP. lol

Just tell those guys to break out the sledge hammer. There's only one direction for it to come out.

How is baltimore with snow, salt, rust? Miles on your car?

My car is from new york and had >5ok miles on it from up there. I would expect rust, but there really isnt any.

car has 40k on it. I just bought it this past June so idk what it's been thru before it got to me regarding snow, salt, etc.

it does get pretty bad around here with snow. I'm gonna try to drive it as little as I can this winter.

Aaron I'm lovin your car right now man! It looks great! Between the camber kit and exhaust, you are having a hell of a time getting stock stuff off of the car.

How do you like the exhaust? And your car is begging for the A-Spec kit. I say get the 07-08 Base front lip though

thanks tyler. i like the exhaust a lot. it's loud...but not TOO loud, it's got a nice tone to it. and i got the girlfriend approved stamp, so were good. a-spec kit is tempting, and yes i'd like to do the 07-08 front lip with some modifications...but idk what all is involved with cutting it and all. hopefully someone can chime in and let me know. also, should i get the 07-08 KIT, or the type-s kit w/ a 07-08 front?

i've got my eyes on dtownhazukos* wheels for spring time, the forgestar f14's in gunmetal 19". so that might come first before the kit.

My girlfriend approves of the ATLP as well. I guess that's all that matters at the end of the day

You should get the 07-08 Type-S A-Spec kit for your car. Since you have the quads, you HAVE to get the Type-S rear lip. When it comes to the front lip, you can get the Type-S one or custom fit the 07-08 Base lip.

Yea those F14s are fucking sexy. Good choice.

Comin along for sure! The drop could be a bit more for me but i like the car as a whole! I had a problem with that same bolt when i did my camber kit, well i had 3 of the 4 inner bolt rusted in but i did it alot easier then what they did. You take a saw and cut on both sides of the bolt and boom it falls out!

yeah i'm still undecided on if i want the full type-s kit, OR type-s rear, sides, and 07-08 base front modified. i'll have to keep looking at more pictures n figure it out.

those F14's are perfect. as soon as i saw them i knew those would be the ones lol. it's funny how we make snap decisions like that.

yeah i'm only dropped on eibachs, 1". i'm keeping my eyes peeled for some koni sp3s to pair them with, or even some coils if i find the right price next spring.

when you cut the bolt on both sides, did you cut inside the frame or outside?

^Yeah if you're down to come to the meet and I can make it depending on what date they set up you can see my A spec kit that I just got put on and make your decision. We're basically twins at this point besides your tails and head lights. Oh and I've got the v3 jpipe with stage 2 exhaust so we can compare exhaust note and what not. BTW, thanks for you Pm with help on the vinyl. Still haven't got around to tackling it yet though.

i may be able to come, depending on date n time.

what a-spec kit do you have?

np on the vinyl steps, it's tedious to say the least...

fedex will be delivering the v3 jpipe today, and i'll be installing it after work.

Be prepared to break out the torch again to get those bolts out. From looking at your undercarriage it looks to be the same as mine was. Granted mine was originally from NY.

i thought i'd have to as well, but all these bolts came off no problem whatsoever. i think because they're closer to the engine, they get pretty hot and come loose easier.

nah man, you're kids will understand! go buy it!

but seriously, it is a very nice, well constructed piece. you won't regret the purchase.

well if you ever get bored of yours...you know where to find me! i saw a few sets on eBay secondhand for around $800-1000, but the offests were ridiculous and would never work for a TL. i'll keep looking tho, something is bound to pop up in the next 3-4 months.

thanks man, i'll take some pictures of the headlights today. it's overcast right now, but it should clear up later on. i don't have the headlights wired up yet, but you'll get the idea.

audio clip...that's a good idea. i actually have access to studio audio equipment, i'll see if i can work something out.

initial driving impressions are great. i don't know about the rest of you, but my exhaust def sounds different. there isn't as much drone as before (which i like) and it just sounds smoother. it's hard to explain the sound really, but it's good. you can feel the power increase, especially from a roll. i hopped on the freeway onramp like i usually do, and it is more responsive, faster pickup, and sounds great paired with the XLR8 non-res quads.

rich made a great product here and i would recommend it to anyone looking for a performance upgrade.
