Awesome review Jeremy! I'm jealous that you got your hands on a j-pipe. Hopefully mine will be coming sometime this summer. I'm stuck between the ATLP V2 and the RV6 though. I've heard the RV6 matched up with the ATLP exhaust sounds a bit raspy, which is something I'm trying to avoid.

Let's see some videos

Btw I just replied to you in my Progress Thread.

Hmmm...haven't updated a video in a while...MIGHT have to get on that!
Ok, I'll go check your thread! lol...you're one of the few that always responds, so I always try to check into your thread too!

I am so happy, man...can't wait to drive it again! Both are great products...they don't do exhaust checks in Florida anymore, so I don't need the cat that the Richie pipe deletes anyway...that and the clearance were my main push. THAT SAID, the ATLP is quite a bit cheaper!

Ok, made a video this morning, but did it while holding my phone AND shifting etc so it's a bit shaky but you can HEAR it, that's for sure. I'll try and see if I can post it soon.

J.

thanks gotkilled...I have polished my car with a porter cable and optimum products and meguiars 105...but that was over a year ago...lately I brought it back to the zaino z-2...leaves the car looking DEEP shiny black!

I actually find that a well maintained black car, can actually reflect things thru the dirt better and actually kinda HIDES how dirty she is in most lighting.

glad you got it installed jeremy! that smell will go away quick, mine did the same thing after i installed it.

after looking at your pics, i need to detail mine bad! gathering supplies as we speak. do you strictly use m105? ever follow it up with 205? or is there no need after the first pass?

enjoy the extra power!

Thanks man...good to know, cause that smell SUCKS! lol...
Did you have a mild rasp around 4 to 5K on WOT? I am positive I tightened down everything. Wonder if maybe I bent a heatshield or something. Will have to check. Figured it'll go away though...

I use M105 for aggressive correction, usually on an orange pad. Then follow with optimum polish on white pad and then finish up with zaino with a black pad. Something like that...I am starting to build an arsenal of products...but the z-2 really gives a nice glossy finish!

when i first installed it and "tested it out" i got a slight 'tinge/rasp' briefly around 5k. but it was only for a second.

you gun it, speeding along (insert sound) "da fuck was that?"

it has since stopped tho. right now it just sounds like sex.

i'm doing the same thing with the detail stuff...one thing at a time. experimentation is key. there is a lot of bs out there to sort through. can't wait til the weather up here changes so i can do a full correction.

My rv6 and ATLP's dont have the rasp but more of a drone. The drone in my TL was louder than my 01 Cobra Mustang with Flowmasters. But its a price you pay to play...haha

I will say my tips turn black very fast due to the rv6 deleting the 3rd cat (I think that's why). Maybe something to consider....

Thanks Cubanlynx, very much. Thread was originally called rockstar's tl with xc8's but it became kind of a timeline thread so I asked that they change it...I'm sure we'll see each other this Sunday...

I grew up in Little Havana and Westchester so I'm sure we've seen each other around at some point (based on your and Raekwon's names )

Yeah, honestly, I'm almost over doing full corrections on my car. Makes me too anal about swirls. I do 2 bucket method and wash top to bottom and dry carefully but I haven't corrected again since over a year ago. The Z2 keeps things glossy enough to mask most imperfections anyway. Good enough for me.

As far as the rasp, it's definitely only for a short burst and about only at 4 to 5k. I'm hoping it goes away, if not I'll get back under and check all heatshields. I will say, if you just take your time etc...install is smooth as can be. Helps to have all the right tools...did you Sofla guys reuse the stock hardware? I decided since I HAD to reuse the front 2 (because the whole stud came out instead of just the nut) I would just reuse all of em. I heard you should retighten a few months later anyway so I'll see how they hold up.

I know it's obvious nobody is gonna say, "sweet, my new super expensive mod makes my car sound like a neon" but I'm not kidding (or full of sh*t) the damned Jpipe with my stage 3 made me feel like the sound sounded like a friggin ferrari or lambo when they take off. Sounds great

swoosh: just intake resonator delete, k&n drop in filter, TB coolant bypass mod, jpipe (rv6 v3), no 3rd cat, dynomax resonator replaced my factory one, and stock exhaust.

LOL, you don't say...
I should have known if you reference wu tang and boogie down that you weren't from down here.

Thanks man, yeah, not a fan myself...not even kidding. I almost NEVER see black on black that I love. The offset, drop, rim size and shape all have SO much to do with how it looks overall. I didn't know these rims were black when I bought them...I thought they were a dark gunmetal from the pictures. Anyway, ended up loving them...thanks for the compliment.
Guys at work always (linemen and groundsmen for the electric) company say I have the Jap car with Lambo wheels...
I take it as a compliment.

As promised...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PMTC61MLXQ0

SH*T...sorry, was holding phone upside down and paying more attention to my driving than the camera! Safety first!

Much throatier on way home tonight and smell and rasp are rapidly dissipating. YAY...I definitely feel how much easier and smoother RPM climbs are.

I have a couple of short vids I'll see about posting in addition to this one.

Thanks a lot for the compliments fellas...
Very much, means a lot to me. I'm SUPER happy with this mod...hard to swallow spending $470 bucks on a mod...but when you get some acceleration and cool sound out of it, makes it feel better.

Sounds great, especially better on a 6MT. I'm a 5AT but when I'm in sport shift it sounds even better. All I have is a K&N drop in and the RV6 V3 and ATLP exhaust. The car moves way better in the mid range.

BTW better not let the haters from the other thread see the b-way mirror

You mean my updside down broadway mirror
lol...i had it from when I had my RSX-S, it fits better upside down and now that I'm used to it, I can't imagine NOT having one. Can see backseat, blindspot, passenger in one fell swoop. COOL!

About 6MT...yeah, that was a MUST for me...I love driving stick (no homo) and knew I had to have it. The TL is one of the few that still cater to the manual crowd to a certain degree!

Swoosh, thanks man!
Yeah, little by little...I swear, the amount of mods that I get after seeing it originally a year ago and thinking A) too much money B) too involved, I don't know how to do that....are really starting to freak me out. I'm so used to seeing my car now...but every once in a while I take a good look at it next to a stock one and think...WOW, has been a long road.

I would've gotten a 6MT too but driving in manhattan in my teg which was 5spd was just getting tiring. That's why I went for the 5AT, I do miss driving stick though (no homoas well).

No doubt...ideally, we take my fiance's car (8th gen accord coupe 4 cylinder auto) when we face traffic etc.
I had auto for a bit, but missed it and have basically gotten lucky and recently planned my life around NOT having to deal with traffic.

As per usual, I'm a little bit of a schizo and decided after the meet today, to drop back to Aspecs for a while. Such a classic look. I MAY reconsider selling the WORKS again...although everywhere I go they are a big hit, so who knows...I will probably end up missing them.

Some pics I took at sundown after swapping. THANKS to my fiance for that Makita cordless impact driver, made it a BREEZE!

Still missing my grill...my buddy is painting it for me professionally.

Random, did some detailing on Mom's car...came out great!

AND, hooked my 1/2 Mexican 1/2 Greek Cousin up...springs, radio install, fixed his power antenna and HID's...lookin good on a budget!

and my little girls...

I didn't think I would like the A-Specs more than the Works, but I really do. They balance out the "blackness" of the rest of the car well, yet they are dark enough to keep the theme. I wouldn't sell the Works, but the A-Specs are win win win.

Your cousin needs some wheels on that Maxima. Nothing crazy but SOME sort of wheels.

I agree Tyler...I do like the contrast too...I love the murdered out look too so who knows, maybe I'll put them back on, or sell em and put some more money back in the bank!

J.

About my cousin...struggling college student...he actually sanded and recently repainted those steelies as an alternative to dropping cash on wheels. I'm going to help him find some OEM ones for cheap.

06CMV6...first of all, thank you! Secondly, you didn't look like a tool...you just wanted to hear it! lol...I thought it was funny that everyone said no change in sound, but I DEFINITELY heard a difference (as did you!).

Swoosh, thanks for the interest, man...I'm a reasonable guy and would be willing to ship and I'm sure we'd be able to work something out. I'm not 100%, but I am pretty sure that I'm going to sell. I have to start saving for my wedding in the next year or so and this would be a good start. I'll PM you more details when I get home...already had a few PM's regarding them believe it or not but as per usual, money talks.

Ok, as per usual...since I'm a schizo, the works are back on the car.
Took a drive up to Riviera Beach Honda to see my new bud, Nitrous...got my fenders rolled and wheels rebalanced etc. He even tighted up my steering rack, which is great because A) Didn't know it could be done B) the steering was feeling very numb.

Check out the new flushness...with almost zero'd camber.
19 by 9 all around.
