no big deal...same old shit, more pictures because I enjoy documenting new changes.

Car has the coat of wolfgang...I'll end up doing the Collinite too, but figured I'd let the Wolfgang wear off a bit since I was busy working on the S2000.

After some deliberation, I decided I missed not looking stock and put my beloved Advan RS back on. Also cleaned up the lug studs with a thread chaser and carefully threaded the aluminum lug nuts back on. Kinda like the contrast and different look.

thanks Sockr! Honestly, I love it too...the orange pops more than the teal did but I still miss it sometimes...if I were to do it again I'd do the turqoise I did on the tool box...

I think it has more to do with missing the project mu lugs though.

Haha you're obsessed with the mu lugs but so am I. I think it's because they were so durable being steel. I hate going aluminum! Pics of the turquoise tool box?

Black is always the best looking color after a good wash and detail!

I get your love for a specific color I do, and while I like the turquoise I just think the orange is such a better color to blend with the black. It stands out but doesn't overtake the overall image of the car. And the orange lugs complete it perfectly. It just gives more of a sinister vibe rather than a colorful vibe the torquoise might give. Just an opinion but I think your color choice is perfect and definitely one of a kind

And I'm just curious, how low in inches was your drop overall?

At this point, I'm not sure at all because of the corrected camber...last I measured, I was about 24" fender to ground or so...

Thanks, man...
in photographs, I agree...but in person, I can't help but love the teal more. I knew as soon as I did the orange color that I would eventually go back because I missed it immediately. Part of it is the lugs...I the mu lugs and they are very color specific. Something about the orange is too gaudy for me, especially on NBP. I guess also because in some lighting the blue pearl is obvious, it makes me like the bluish tones on the car.

I would actually do the same teal I had on before...but after going on such a huge mission, I want to be able to see a difference in what I've done...enter the color on the toolbox...still a tone that works with the lugs, but is brighter and a little louder too.

Also, forgot to mention...although the lugs are pretty...I don't like how they look on the car and they're off already, as are the amber headlights. I don't know why I keep tempting fate and wasting so many hours installing and uninstalling but I should probably just sell them and move on because I never end up leaving them on.

Yeah I know exactly what you mean. Pictures don't always do things the justice they deserve and seeing something in person is always better. I didn't think about the fact that the NBP does have that bluish look up close, which is of course ridiculous because I have the same color on mine and it's always been something I love about seeing up close the paint. Either way you go I'm sure it will look great because at the end of the day it's yours and you can do whatever the hell you want!

LOL...well, I did kinda ask for opinions, so I appreciate you taking the time. It's strange...but there was just something really cool and soothing about the teal...with the orange, i feel like i am trying too hard and it reminds me of a 350Z or something...the gold/copper colored brembo they had. The teal, common on the forums, you almost NEVER see in person. I'll probably get started tonight...gotta let it dry a day being that it's an enamel paint.

Fair enough, and I definitely see what you're saying. That teal would definitely be unique and awesome. That's one of the reasons I decided to do my emblems in carbon fiber. I hadn't seen anyone do that and I just wanted something a little different. And while we're on the topic of opinions perhaps I'll get yours on something. I'm wanting to wrap the silver radio trim pieces with the left over CF wrap I have and I have seen a couple Ziners who have done that and it looks great, but I was thinking maybe I'd get some of the silver CF wrap and do that instead of the black CF. Cant decide though

which paint are you going with now? previously you did satin lagoon (what i have as well), but curious to see which paint you're going with. my tiny baby rear calipers have some chipping paint

i really wish that g2 had a color that was very similar to this...i haven't seen any paint match the quality of the g2 caliper kits, they are amazing. i know they have some custom colors but i don't want to pay $100 for paint (my current setup was $3 a can haha..2 cans)

Honestly, when I've done it in the past, the quality of the finish looks pristine...all in the prep.
Currently though, using that same light turquoise that takes forever to dry caused me massive headaches. Namely, had to wait 24 hours for it to be dry enough to apply the decal...then, instead of following directions to add the clear after 1 hour OR 48 hours...it wrinkled up a bit.

Looks great, but up close it looks like I'm a rookie spray can painter artisteeeee

I say go with silver trim! I like the contrast in the dark interior!

I'm creating a new AZ rule. 3 or more "^+1" and "agreed" posts within a week gets you permabanned

Love y'all...
Okay, so...the finish on the calipers isn't perfect, but it does look good from more than a foot away so I'll wait to fix that. Kinda cool that it has that Mustang crinkle finish. Oddly, I still miss the Aspec wheels on the car, so I might put them on. In photos, you can't tell...but the mu lugs don't match the turquoise of the calipers well.

Got lucky and found some matching spray paint on the ground

here you can kinda see the wrinkling...I might try and lightly sand it with 1000 grit to knock down the wrinkles on the large flat surfaces and re-clear...but I'll wait the 7 days for it to totally dry. I will follow directions now...goal is to not disturb the base turqoise color since it'll be totally cured and will suck to have to clean up that overspray again.

Also...I missed the extra lighting...took a shot on these ebay fog bulbs and they are pretty much a perfect match to the CBI...all for $9. Might order a backup set in case I have an issue with them since it's VERY hard to find a match!

but don't tell anyone!

Okay, well I'll be totally honest...I'm a buffoon...I knew it wouldn't match, but thought maybe it wouldn't be bad. In then end though, the project mu was much darker and much more teal than turquoise/midori/mint...so I changed to the black lugs at the behest of my wife. I still might paint the cheap mu knockoffs I have the same color, but honestly, the black looks cleaner.

also...entire car AND wheels, and gas door AND door/trunk jambs got a coat of Collinite 845...there are imperfections in the paint, but boy does that stuff make the pearl pop!

DSC_9908 by rock star, on Flickr

DSC_9963 by rock star, on Flickr

DSC_9964 by rock star, on Flickr

DSC_9968 by rock star, on Flickr

here you can pretty see my custom crinkle fuck up finish on the calipers...oddly enough though, I'm gonna leave it. For the effort of sanding it and re-taping it all, I'd rather wait until I want to change the color before going through all that.

Anyway...from more than a foot away, it looks good and glossy anyway.

I was trying to get a reflection shot to show comparison but it wasn't obvious on camera

I sure do love your style man. So I did some research and I'm curious, what made you consider using the Collinite considering it's typical application purpose? I wouldn't think that someone would think to use use that on a car even though it's clear coat safe. Also, and I'm certain you've covered it before, but I honestly can't remember on which of the 307 pages of your thread where it was posted, what fogs did you end up going with? I've researched quite a few Accord fogs and there's at least a couple I like, but yours I think are perfect in terms of the lines and how they flow with the headlights and the body. I'd also love to chat with you on how you went about installing them as fas as cutting the for the assembly and wiring.

Thanks, man...I read tons of reviews and supposedly it's a trade "best kept secret"...I can tell you, that today, after seeing it in the sun is makes the pearl flake much more obvious than the swirls in the paint. Even my wife, who doesn't care and is fed up with car shit, mentioned last night that it looks REALLY good. I was gonna opti-coat, but didn't want to chemically lock the imperfections in and also, I know myself...I love waxing her every few months so that likely wouldn't change. Try it for yourself, you'll be amazed.

About the fogs...they are the inspire fogs. I had the accord fogs originally...but helped Austin install the inspires on his and realized that they just looked so much better. Wiring, you're kinda on your own...I have limited memory of what I did and to what although there's a switch and a relay involved. The cutting...well, that part is simple enough, especially with the inspires (accord is harder)...place the light over the grill and mark where to cut, the top and bottom don't need a cut since it's the perfect width...then when you put it in the opening, trim the black plastic of the bumper wherever it's touching to make it go all the way in and sit flush...then just run some screws/epoxy/wire to hold in place. It's that simple.

Right on. I appreciate the info, I'll definitely look into the Collonite. As far as the fogs I thought I remembered you saying they weren't Accord so that makes sense and I have a couple buddies who know how to do the wiring. I'm hoping to to tackle that before the weather turns here

It's probably a 4 hour job, man...seriously, the accord you have to cut the bezel of the fog (expensive if you fuck up) AND the opening to the bottom grill and there was no way to know if you were angling correctly. With the inspire, you literally cannot mess up, it will sit flush when you're done and be perfect

You certainly make it sound easy lol. It's one of those things where I wonder if I should try it myself, or if I would be better off letting a shop handle it. And after I looked up the install instructions for the Aspec kit I found myself wondering the same thing about that as well.

dont take offence but if you didnt like or couldn't install the lip kit then dont do the fogs yourself. My and my buddy did it just recently, and it took quite a bit of time tbh. wasn't really a fun job lol but the results are great

Oh none taken, and I appreciate the candor. I know where my expertise lies and where it doesn't and honestly attempting projects like that don't sit very well with me. I would definitely like to try for the sake of accomplishing something like that on my own, but I most certainly don't want to mess anything up, especially something as important to me as my baby. The question though is, when I finally get around to getting the kit and the fogs, is to whom and what kind of shop I take it to. There are a lot of automotive shops near me, but none that I have den or heard of that do custom work on a regular basis. I suppose while I gather the funds I'll have a bit of research to do

The only difference between a guy that knows what he's doing and doesn't know what he's doing is experience.

If you have the time and the drive, make yourself an expert.
Honestly, it's great to have the end result with a pretty aspec kit or some cool fogs...but enjoyment is short lived...it just becomes something you put on the car that you don't pay attention to anymore. A big part of the enjoyment and pride come from knowing you sat and learned, cried, bled, got pissed, hulk smashed...and came out victorious. That way, if something goes wrong, and it always does...you know what it is and you're not paying someone else to make the mistakes for you. That saying that if you want it done right, do it yourself, is very very true.

Just my opinion...there are instructions and guides and hardware is included. To say you are qualified to attempt and accomplish this would be an understatement and anyone making the claim to question your capability...including yourself, should be taken offensively! I'm not smart...I've just done it wrong for a long time!

That's a lot of wisdom packed into those couple of paragraphs and I sincerely appreciate you taking the time to give advice, and I think you're absolutely right. I would much rather learn "the hard way" than have someone else make my mistakes for me as you said. Hopefully I'll be able to get started on something before the weather turns too cold here (I'm in an apartment and don't have a garage) but if not I'll have plenty of time to research and learn before next spring. I'll definitely keep you posted though!

Love the inspirational pics, she looks amazing as always!
