So, as I wait for some key parts...not a whole anything new...
but my old buddy drove the car around the block and I got a pretty good compliment from a guy that is used to driving Mustang GT's and the like...he said he was in shock that the car had some good power and felt fast AF. He said he did not expect that at all.

He knows his cars...so I took that as a huge compliment. this car!

I'm not sure what bulbs any of them are, sock...they were on the car. I swapped to amber but didn't like the drl bulbs looking orange when they were off during the day.

Oddly, I really like the 5-6000K white bulbs on Kinetic...compliments the color well.

i'm not insulted cause the other one that works hard is a bone.

LOL...it's on the radar...for sure.
I'd need to find someone local that I'd trust to tune...or is it a simple thing? Not something I can just load myself based on my mods?
I'll have to read up on it.

Of course you can...just use an etune/vit or whatever the kids are doing these days. Input engine, mods, and voila! If you think you're car is fast now...look out!

Literally the only thing I'm jealous of. I'd kill to be able to tune at a reasonable price.

Looks like Hondata Flashpro is $695.
I may seriously consider it!
I didn't know if it was something that would cost me THAT AND then another $600 for a tuner to mess with it.

I'm always afraid of messing something up.

I would have had flashpro at the house before I drove the car back. Lol

I mean paying a legit tuner to either dyno or street tune YOUR car should always produce better results than a generic tune. But the generic tune will still be waaaay better, and likely safer, than not being tuned.

You mentioned Andy said the car was a factory freak/ strong right? It may be worth seeking out a tuner and seeing what they'd charge.

You need the tune it helps the car so much. It makes the car pull and pull. Get it tuned by Dom on here he does most of our cars super legit guy and it's only 100 bucks and he'll tune it even if you get more mods later.

He tells you what drive to log, you email it, he emails you back a calibration. Back and forth about twenty times and you're good to go super simple but so so worth it
I thought you already had it!you getting it is a no brainer with all the mods you have!!

Damn, will do then! I may really have to give that a try. I feel like the damn thing pulls a bunch now, so it can only get better!

Maybe that'll inspire me to tune the S2000 eventually too, although that will be more complicated.

Fully bolted and tuned, I can live with...especially at $800 investment.

Hmmm...should I have dealt with the nasty rasp and pcd then? Naw...the HFPC sound so good!

Nah HFPC is certainly the way to go unless boost. IMO!

Yea I'm surprised JJH didn't tune it himself. But when you made the list of what the car had done it was the very first thing that came to mind.

It's ported/polished too right? What manifold parts have been modified?

Also...$100? Sheeeit that ain't no thang.

Yes sir...I got the impression he had big plans for it, and just ran out of desire/steam. I think Andy was originally guiding him, but Andy is a mad scientist who has put a ton of time and money into it, and it would be daunting to follow in his footsteps. JJH's decision to go with a stage 3 clutch, good for 750 whp tells me he was probably planning on eventually rotrexing and making serious power.

Well, I "feel" like I lost a little oomph with the hfpc over pcd...but that might in my head and all top end.

It's aem intake, 3.7 zdx throttle body and intake, ported runners by Andy, high flow cats, v3 jpipe and TD exhaust. I do have a little rev hang but it doesn't bother me at all...might also be the lightweight flywheel though.

I have the new valve gasket...I'll be doing a valve adjust and cleaning out the egr and putting new plugs in in the next few months.

Yea the zdx mani and ported runners will likely lend itself very well to a tune. That rev hang will go away too.

I would however do the minor upkeep tasks first before tuning. Especially the plugs. Likely won't make a lick of difference but that's what I would do.

Maybe there is a difference...it has to be negligible...but the difference in sound makes up for it.

Or sell blackie and come back to Ohio...pickup a rotrex kit from Andy....

What's he even charging for those things? $7000? 8?

Less...I can't recall exact but something like 5 or 6 sounds more like it and he was truly trying to make it a plug and play install for people. The guy is a class act.

Yeah, I will do the valve adjustment and plugs first. About HFPC vs PCD...in that last vid you heard a little rasp at the top of 1st, right? Well imagine that whenever you get on the gas. It was pretty raspy.

Have you ever swapped out an axle yourself? Do you need to realign? I'm sure it's PRUDENT, but is it necessary?

I think I need a new passenger side axle. I'll start with that as that was what got ride of my last driveline vibration under acceleration. I only really feel it badly around 3K...and it gets better and worse if I've just turned the car. Definitely got more noticeable when I went lower which tells me that's probably what it is.

No I don't think an alignment is required after doing an axle. But if the car is new to you...I'd probably have it done anyway.

I don't have audio at work. I could watch porn all day but can't plug in headphones. Lol
