Road trip w/mileage report

So i drove from SW Michigan to Colorado for a hiking trip in the http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Weminuche_Wilderness.

I took i-80 the whole time as it seems to be the fastest route across the plains. I drove straight through both times. Nebraska is a boring state to drive through. Illinois was riddled with bad roads, cops and construction.

The painters tape held better on the way back, used the roll of tape to press the tape on the bumper down when applying, seemed to work better than using my hands.

When i was getting gas in Nebraska, Iowa, Colorado all the shell stations had 10% ethanol in their premium gasses. I was not a fan of this and it seemed like they were just trying to sell me corn.

I recently went on a road trip from LA to Portland, OR last weekend... 2200 miles in one weekend. Averaged 26mpg according to my trip calculator. Sounds a bit low but I did spend some of those miles around the hills of San Francisco. Also I had 2 passengers with luggage and AC on most of the trip.
