Rickyp39's '08 CBP Progress Thread
Hey Aziners! After being a LONG time lurker i've made some progress along the way finally worthy of sharing. Before anything else I want to say thanks to everyone that ever helped me along the way.
Here is a pic of her bone stock the first day I bought it.
2 days later I laid 20 percent tint all around on the windows.
Then my brother let me try his 20s off his accord just to see how they would look but as I expected they were much too big.
Then I focused on upgrading the stereo and after much swapping and trading and upgrading I finally have stopped at this 1 12 in its custom enclosure built for the sub specs powered by a Rockford Fosgate T1500-1bdCP amp. After the XS power battery, 0 gauge wire everywhere, and sound deadener I'm finally happy with how it sounds.
Then I debadged.
One night, on the way to the mall some kid completely ran the stop sign and I ended up T-boning him and bending his s10 pickup slightly in half lol. Luckily he admitted fault and I didn't pay a dime for repairs or the rental which came out to a total of about $12,000 just for my damages. No injuries tho, thank God.
After a month or so of waiting and driving gay rental cars I got the TL back.
Then I put the manual aspec suspension on and it was night and day difference. I was super happy cuz I didn't wanna slam it although I wish it was a tiny bit lower but performance wise I couldn't ask for more. Shortly after that I installed the Progress RSB and replaced the FSB with the Type S bar. Again, I was amazed at how well the car handled even after the aspec drop. I love expressway ramps a million times more now!
I tried some plasti dip on the rims and initially liked it but as each day passed I started to hate it so it didn't take long for me to peel it off.
I had always liked the Aspec 18s and my brother showed me an ad on craigslist of an Aspec TL being sold. I offered 350 for the rims and got 2 tires with it! I guess the owner had another set so his loss was my gain. I bought the quad exhaust tips from socal and I like them but need to get them angled higher.
This weather is slowing the modding down but I went ahead and got the type S sidemarkers. I shoulda got these a long time ago.
Aspec front and rear lips, RDX caliper covers and more mods coming soon!
Thanks for viewing

Car looks great!

Nice! The Type S sidemarkers were my first mod, definitely worth it!
I agree on the dipped OE wheels, they looked good, but not anything I'd stick with either. The A-spec wheels look perfect though!
I think I need to go to the car wash now, my baby is dirty and these pics remind me how good it looks clean!

Great shots! It took me a minute to realize why there were tire marks on the ground behind your car
When is A-Spec being purchased?

Nice shots, car is looking good! Can't wait for the a spec kit!
Out of curiosity, do you ever get hassled for not having a front plate? I took mine off a year ago when I did the a spec kit, and it's never been a problem.

Thanks KJ me either! I actually haven't had any problems with no plate on the front. Not even with my old car so maybe the local cops don't care too much. It seems like you're in the city a lot so maybe you're lucky cuz I've heard they rape you out there for minor things

Yeah man they were all curbed up pretty bad and bent so I had em refinished for an additional 500-600 but at least they're mint now !
Can anyone tell me why the pics I'm posting aren't as good as they look on my computer ? Anyway to improve quality after posting thru photobucket ? Or am I doin something wrong ?

Cool snow pics, Ricky! You might consider using one of them for a new Avatar.

From everything I've heard, Flickr is much better than photobucket. Its only free up to a certain MB limit per month, but I guess it maintains the quality better than other sites. I use it for my DSLR pics, and anything from my phone I just do thru photobucket.

i used to have the ebony chrome aspecs on my CBP which I liked, but after seeing these in gunmetal on your, and my new wheels in gunmetal with a similar shade to the aspec gunmetal color - i definitely think the gunmetal is the way to go for CBP. Titanium is ok, but i don't think it holds a candle to the gunmetal.
the aspec gunmetal matches the CBP pretty well

Few updates here:
Got my RDX calipers installed the other day. I love the look but just being secured by RTV scares me. Hopefully they stick tho.
I think they look sick. What a pain in the ass to install the little washers behind the petal tho!
I never posted a pic of the VLED dome lights so this is what they look like. The camera enhances the brightness but they are super bright.
Same lights used for the license plates.
Figured I'd show a little custom work I did. This is for the amp to control the bass.

Just a little heads up:
I'm awaiting a set of JnC headlights to do some of my upcoming mods. I want to knock them all out at once while my bumper is off.
Mods consist of:
JnC lights (obviously)
LED turn bulbs front and rear
iJDMtoy DRLS
Aspec kit front and rear
Stage 1 shortly after
