Cool Rear Diffuser DIY

Disclaimer: This write up is strictly information on how to make a rear diffuser. Tips on how I mounted to my car, not how to secure it to your specific car. It is critical to use strong material and hardware. Any incidents as a result of poor craftsmanship, deviations, and bad installation -I shall not be held liable.

Material I used
3/8” Plastic sheet – UHMW from McMaster-Carr
1/2” Plastic Sheet – for canards (same as above)

Pros
High impact strength
High Tensile Strength
Impervious to any weather on this planet
Was able to withstand any speed I drove

Cons
Quite Heavy
3/8 Sheet needed reinforcement or it sagged a little
Very difficult to machine
A little pricey
In my case, I could only find it in White, so I had to repaint it several times

So with that said, make sure you choose a material that is strong and suits your needs.

It would be very wise to create a mock up to see what shape and fitments suit you

...and to do a test fit before making the real thing happen

Good luck, and share pics when you build

What a thread revival lol!

Currently in the middle of rebuilding my beater car. After that is done, I'll have a cheap reliable car to drive and can then focus all my attention on the big mods for the TL.
