anyone that ordered from oemacuraparts.com might want to call to check on the price of the covers. i was just told that the price has increased, even though i ordered at the cheaper price, i have to pay the difference.

 

I thought you ordered from honda.

 

i did, they called to notify me that American Honda increased the price of the part. their site now reflects the new price.

i'm just don't know if the same thing will happen to everyone else that ordered from oemacuraparts.com

 

I knew it. That's bullshit if they tell you you have to pay more after you already ordered. Not a very good way to do business.

I will have to wait and see if oemacuraparts does this.

What was the amount of the increase they told you to pay?

 

i paid 2.29 and the new price is 11.02, i ordered 4, so $34.92 is the difference

 

they better not change the price on me for the high shipping price I had to pay.

 

if they tell me that I'll cancel my order right there. That's ridiculous.

 

i cancelled my order with Honda Parts Unlimited and placed my order with Tim at oemacuraparts.com, no price increase on his end yet.

including mines, he has 78 outstanding orders for these covers, he should have the covers on hand Wed/Thurs next week to ship out.

Tim said he's going crazy with all these orders

really? i spoke to tim around 12 eastern time and he didnt mention anything about that only that they were out of stock and maybe would be getting them by next week

Looks great. Way better that those stupid fake brembo caliper covers because:

A) They're an OEM part
B) They're not pieces of plastic molded into the shape of a Brembo caliper.

 

Damn im sorry you guys are going through all this trouble. My dealership confirmed it as well, it's on back order and prices are going to be higher. It's in high demand... Please post up pictures when you guys get them!

 

Mine just came in and I was surprised to see that these covers are not made of plastic at all. I was under the impression that they were and they are actually made of metal/aluminum. The install was pretty easy, took no more than an hour following the instructions of the OP on where to apply the black silicone.

Tim said that he would honor outstanding orders at the price the order was placed at. I think any new orders now will be at the new price.

cool, Tim said he was getting the parts from Honda on Wed or Thurs.

can't wait to get mines, ordered 4 of them for my 04 5AT TL. i already have my calipers painted black, so the covers will look perfect with the slotted/drilled rotors.

 

Kyle, I know they're difficult to see behind the Type S wheels. That's why I painted mine a different color other than black.

 

is it just me or is the part off tim's site at the moment? when i put the parts number in, it says "no items found"

 

I think Tim took the part off the site after TLDude876 placed his order, so no new orders could be placed.

 

When I talked to Tim a day or two about these, he said go ahead and place the order, but don't expect to get them any time soon. Apparently Honda anticipated a need of about 14 of these per year, and now he alone has around 80 orders to fill.

 

Yea, unfortunately. But I plan on eventually getting some non-mesh style rims where the brakes are actually visible.

Is it difficult painting the calipers?

It was very stand up of Tim to continue to allow these to be purchased at original price, AFTER Honda raised it. He has always taken care of members on this site since becoming a vendor, but I'm sure many of these orders were placed by people who didn't even mention Azine,( I know I didn't, but I got in before the price increase) and he continued to allow sales at the original price.

After glued, will there any problem in removing the caliper later for changing the rotor etc?

It would be terrific if someone can post a DIY with more pictures.

 

It's really not-you can mask them off (leave them on the car). Get some high intensity caliper paint like G2 and you're set.
