Quad retrofit

Did my quad retrofit a month or so back but still doing the minor things for it such as the turn signals and running into a new problem every time I fix something. But the project of choice was the Morimoto mini d2s with Morimoto 3000k bulbs. Tell me what you think!

Was just trying to get a few pictures on the phone. Guess the top picture is the best to give you an idea.

The lens sticks out too far; looks like a fat nipple.

How's the alignment compared to the stock projectors? Why are the projectors sticking so far out of the shroud, seems like you should've done some more trimming of the DRL bezel in back.

Yeah, the projector was a little bigger and I kind of rushed the project.

Yeah, it probably would've been better if I removed the reflector in the DRL but was rushing the project so I ended up only drilling a bigger hole through the bowl and it seemed fine so I just sealed it up. Might re-open them someday, because I think I used a little too much buytl and the headlights stick out a tad bit

And the alignment, I havent really had the chance to re-aim my headlights because I cant find a screw driver that will fit in there yet so I need to buy one.

your basic phillips screw driver will fit....you just have to make sure to catch the corner you can angle it do whatever but make sure your not turning for no reason. Also show us some pics of how the cut off line looks....how the lights look when off....are your blinkers working properly?

My only question is if the DRL projector was aligned to the projector cut off and also if both projectors align in sync when you adjust the stock projector.

Not a bad job =)

I would have stuck the projector a little further in.

The auxiliary projector is sitting too close to the front lens, I'd push is back if I was you as over time the heat may burn a hole through your front lens or at least disfigure it.

I will get a picture of the alignment sometime today to show the cut off. The blinkers are still a problem, I will be looking for items today to solder to the harness.

From what I remember, the projectors were aligned with the stock ones pretty good since you just have to drill the hole bigger, but I will get a picture later today.

Thanks, yeah I want to re-open the headlights but they are very annoying.

Would it make a huge difference if I were to just remove the reflector bowl in the drl housing? Because what I basically did was just drill the hole wider. Hmm definitely sounds bad if the lens had a hole/was disfigured.

that's what I was thinking. When adjusting headlights there are millimeters to work with and just sticking that projector in there doesn't seem like it would align well. In the first pic it seems like the new projector is pointing more downwards
