So I think I am just about over this coilover project and I don't know what to do from here.
Last weekend my friend and I went to install the coils. We started with the front passenger side. We got it all put together and decided to adjust the damping on that shock. We turned the knob all the way soft and in doing so the knob broke off. Apparently the instructions tell you to start at full stiff and then count backwards up to 16 clicks. (who reads instructions?)
I talked to Marcus and he sent me a new damper knob assembly right away. He always informed me that if you turn the knob towards soft, it won't stop clicking after 16 clicks. It will keep turning and that's probably why mine broke off. You have to start at full stiff and count the clicks. Little bit of user error and manufacturer flaw if you ask me.
The new knob assembly came in the mail yesterday and I went to switch it out this morning. Here is where I'm getting frustrated... Part of the knob broke off inside and I can't get the old assembly out! I'm hoping something with a magnet will twist it out, but for now it's stuck on there. I don't know whether to try and file a warranty claim or try to order a new shock? I'm kind of over this whole project right now.

Damn, that sucks. Hope you can replace it!
Oh, and read the damn instructions!

Yea, sorry to hear about all the hassles. I'm glad I paid to have mine done because I know for sure I would have run into issues doing it in my own, and I may have just abandoned the project entirely.
Hope it works out for you!

I can't get the old assembly out to install the new one. It looks like I either need to solder something to the broken bolt or I need to drill it out. I'd rather do neither and not risk messing up the inner threads. Hopefully I can just get the shock replaced at this point.

How about pouring in a bunch of pb blaster overnight to ensure no corrosion holds the piece in place...then turn it upside down and tap the assembly on a piece of wood or something that won't damage but might jar it free. Do you have a dental pick in the house? That's VERY thin, strong metal...and since it's a square design and drops down into the chamber, I would be there's a little wiggle room to work with.
Test the magnet on the part that broke off also...might be an alloy with low magnetic qualities!

Got the suspension, camber kit, and spacers installed today. I'm very happy with the new look. I set the coils to 1/2'' of threads showing and I'm sitting at approx. 24.25'' front and 24.75'' rear. I'm still playing with the damping settings. Right now I'm at 7 front and 10 rear. It feels pretty good so far. I'm hoping to get the exhaust tips installed tomorrow and I'll clean it up for new dslr pics soon. Here are some iphone pics from today.

Thanks everyone! I'm loving the coils. They really do ride much better than springs. I got my car all cleaned up this afternoon and then it started to rain. The weather cleared up and I went out pretty late because I was determined to get some pics. Not too happy with them, but I will get some better pics once I can arrange a couple friends and another car for rolling shots.

Dude, great new shots. Now you need some Inspyre fogs.

I agree. That's on my list of things to do. Probably wait awhile because I don't really have much more planned. Don't want to get bored with the car.
Those fogs look great and would really change the front end of my car. Maybe when I mod my headlights I'll do those too. Thanks for the thread update.

Fixed it for ya.
Thanks Jeremy, I'm very happy with the new look. Now it's time for another meet. I'll take my camera out this time since my car will be worth shooting.
You have no idea! I thought it was too low until I cleaned it up and took pics. I stepped back and admired how it looked. It sits just about right for me.

Tyler is considering a bunch of stuff he's never thought about.
Wasn't worth taking out your camera, huh?!!
I was awestruck at your last set of rollers with all those other members, in love with them, actually. I hope we can do it soon. When that guy Alex from the FB page with the enkeis (getting the matte silver wrap) gets done, I'm going to set up another meet.
Maybe do Quiet Waters park at the top of the Sawgrass expressway. That'll make it easier for everyone to get to.
In a way, I like your unmodded headlights. Hmmm...

I just want to black out the headlights and keep the amber in there. Just to keep the OEM look, but make the front end a little meaner looking. Just like this...
Thanks, I really liked the new photos of yours!
Thank man! I've always gone for the OEM+ look on all my cars. I like to keep things clean and simple.
