Predatorbird's '04 WDP Progress Thread-8/8/14
Let me start by giving a history about my name and previous cars. My first car was a 94 v6 Firebird. I spent all my money I earned in high school and college on the car and I put on a Suncoast Creations "Predator" hood, which is where I came up if my name... Predatorbird.
After college, I picked up a 99 Cobra and drove that for five years. It was stock when I bought it, but of course spent all my money modding it.
I was in the market for something different that didn't draw too much attention. I got tired of people wanting to race me and every light and I couldn't afford to get a ticket. In Nov 2011, I came across an 04 WDP with Navi 54k miles at a dealer two hours away. The car was very clean and the price was too good to pass up. I knew I couldn't sell the Cobra quick enough and I didn't feel like dealing with people test driving my car. The dealer offered a good amount for the Cobra, so I traded it in.
The following weekend I debadged it.
From there I was deciding which route I wanted to go with the car. I spent countless hours on here looking at pics of TL's trying to get ideas. Once I decided which direction I wanted to go, I started collecting parts.
The wheels were bought off Craigslist and were curbed pretty bad. I spent the day and refinished them myself.
Once I had to the funds for tires, it was finally time to put everything on the car. I put them wheels on and a week later installed the A-Spec kit.
A week later I got my tips welded on and this is where it stands today.
I was planning on doing coilovers next, but I am going to hold off on spending that kind of money right now. I'm looking around for places to move in with my gf and will eventually put a ring on her finger.
The only things I want to do in the near future is:
-Darker tint (Current tint is approx 35%)
-Ebay roof spoiler.

Those exhaust tips look great!
Clean looking ride as always!
Did you just use spot putty to fix the curb rash?

Awesome thread! It must be weird going from two muscle cars to a measly V6 sedan

Car looks great! A drop would be sexy, but I think it is pretty nice sitting the way it is right now. That firebird reminds me of the Knightrider 2000 movie...anybody else?

Very nice.
Looks like you were using your 50mm lens for those last three shots.

At first I didn't care for the wheels, but they really grew on me after seeing them in person on a few cars.
I'm still unsure what to do about lowering it, so for right now I'll keep it the way it is. I thought about putting lights in the ram air hood back in my Fast and Furious days.
That always seems to be my go to lens. It's a great lens for only $100. My next purchase will probably be a Tamron 28-75 f/2.8.

I'm using the 450d (XSi). I may upgrade bodies down the road if I ever get really into it. I honestly never use my camera that much as I don't want to look like a tourist carrying it around haha.

Haven't posted pics in awhile, decided to go out this morning after work and take some new ones. Not too much to the car in the past few months. Newest mods are Brakemotive rotors/pads, ebay roof spoiler, and plasti-dip front/rear. I'm still trying to decide which coilovers I want to get down the road. I'm also planning on getting new tint 5% all around. Enjoy the new pics.

Thanks man, slower than I wanted, but it's getting there.
Thanks. I'll probably change the side markers when I figure out which tails I want to get. I'm thinking either modded base or stock Type S. Headlights will be one of the last things I do.
I'm having issues with the led board in my driver taillight. I have 3 leds that are off one day and will work the next. I don't know where to begin with electrical issues. Anyone have any suggestions?

Just got Tein H-Techs installed (Thanks JayVee for the hookup!) and I got the drop I was looking for. It got rid of the gap, rides great, and I don't need to mess with a camber kit... hopefully. I'm hoping to meet up with a buddy of mine in the next day or two to get some rolling shots. Stay tuned... here is a cell phone pic I took right after.

H-Techs look great! Did you pick them up locally from Robert? He was selling them in the BM and they recently sold. I'm still in love with the S-Techs but I really don't feel like messing with a camber kit

Took a few new pics today. It was the wrong time of day to shoot, but I was out and had my camera with me. My friend cancelled on me for the rolling shots so hopefully they will come soon.

I have a question and I know I am going to get slammed for asking it, but why does everyone have the aspec body kit? Yes, it looks good, but if everyone has it, then doesn't it lose it's effect? I am getting my TL lowered on Tein S. Tech springs and I have the stock 2004 rims on 17's. I think about getting the body kit, but want to stand out not blend in. Are there other kits out there?

SilverStacker, there is a RonJon kit on the market too, but it's more expensive and sometimes difficult to fit.
On a Base TL, the Aspec Kit is kind of like the finishing touch. To me, they now look like something is missing if they don't have it on. The Aspec Kit for the Type S is a different looking kit.
