Picture from the DC World of Wheels + SEMA question
Here are a couple of pictures from the Washington DC World of Wheels car show last weekend. I actually won best in my class. Also, I'm thinking of showing at SEMA in Atlantic City. Is anyone else interested? If not in showing, want to meet in Baltimore for the ride up?

I moved this to Photo Gallery, so you might want to repost your SEMA question in the SEMA sticky thread.

hey uhm.... want a tip? clean the underside of the fenders too!
wow, the car is shiny but that part isnt...
car shows here on the westcoast are a little bit more competative i guess... but you should really do that... great car show judges will deffinitely look at the undercarriage of your car as well.
congrats on the win! hope ya get many many more!
keep us updated with many pics please?
p.s. i really dig your headlights

ACCURATEin: I'm not sure what is next for the exterior of the car. I had planned on a carbon fiber hood, but I sort of like the way the exterior looks as it is. Any suggetions guys?
ayethetiense: I got the fenderwells clean before the judging begain. I guess I need a trailer for the shows. I detail it at my shop and then have to drive to the show. This one was an hour away.

As far as the 20s, I have no regrets. I like the look of 19s much better epecially with a drop. 19s give the look of performance where as 20s seem to blur that image. I'm not sure that 20s in a mesh style wheel would look right. 20s should be a more solid looking wheel usually chrome, but also black centers would work. I think the TL is a sports sedan, and deserves 19s. 20s belong on a true 4-door sedan (a car with more mass to compliment the wheel); 7-series and the like... Has anyone been albe to drop with 20s???

My wheels are 19"x8" all the way around (iForged Swift in Gunmetal). I gave iForged the specs of the car for the custum build. I have no idea what offset they where built in. The fronts are built for the Brembos with an inch or so lip. The rears have more of a lip (lower offset i guess). The rear lip is more like 2.5". I know the car is front wheel drive, so I didn't bother going with staggered wheel widths (a waist in my opinion on a fwd). But had to have the lip, so thats why they are staggerd lips. Its gonna be a pain when I rotate the tires. I have to actually dismount and remount the tires. The front wheels have to stay in the front (rears do not fit on front) and the rears in the rear. Oh the other factor is that the tires are directional, Lefts and Rights. The tires are Nitto NT 555 Extreme 245/35/19. On paper they are a little too wide for an 8" wheel, but I wanted the extra rubber. Tire are great so far and the price was too.

The rear taillights are painted along with the side markers. They have three coats of a candy type paint on them, then they were clear coated. The headlights were actually painted the same color as the tails. However, due to the chrome background of the headlight assembly it appears bluish. I got very lucky that my car has a blue hue to it. Otherwise, the headlights would not look right. I actually hated the lights by themselves until the were re-installed.
