Pics of switchbacks on unmodded Type S headlight?

tried finding pictures of switchbacks in unmodified headlights (type s) but couldn't find anything because most have been fully cleared. i'm curious to see what the lights look like with the partial amber part still in the type s headlight

i like the new v3 triton leds that just came out but curious to see how switchbacks in general look with the main headlight, the switchback white, and the partial amber all together.

one general question: does the switchback white only come on with the main headlights or is it on also during the day with the DRLs?

thanks in advance...

The white would turn on with your parking lights (one click forward) and then stay on with your headlights.

I believe the Triton's will only light up amber when you signal.

the switchback white light is on with parking lights, and only switches to amber when you apply the turn signal.

unfortunately i don't have any pics of the switchback turned on with amber diffusers. but i imagine it would kind of defeat the purpose of having switchbacks bc it would just light up amberish color you know?

here is mine with the amber out tho.

The Type S would be the preferred headlight to have since the amber diffuser only comes out a little bit where as the base TL amber goes all the way forward. So if you have a Type S switchbacks would be perfect as is.

If you're looking for a particular angle let me know. This is all I had on my phone.

thanks guys, this is great feedback in a short time period.

the main thing i was looking for was to make sure it didn't look goofy with the type s partial amber piece still in there. i don't want to mod my headlights so if i go switchbacks i would keep that part in there. some of the last few pics capture what i was looking for.

if anyone has any other night pics with the headlights on with a front and side view, that would be perfect (non blinking view).

are the switchbacks on (white) during the day with the DRLs? or are they off except for the blinking amber during signalling?

i'll PM mccollins when i get home, thanks!!

My first pic is with LED DRLs on. Photobucket isn't working correctly so I can't upload a pic with stock DRLs just yet.

Edit* here it is.

oh ok so the switchbacks are always "on" (white)? i currently have 6k DRL LEDs but may switch to 5k if i get switchbacks.

do you have any farther away pics with the DRLs on?

Agreed, type s headlights are perfect for switchbacks. Amber on the side doesn't interfere at all. Go for it, and do the relay mod at the same time

pretty sure i'll go with the switchbacks, just going to see if there is a xmas sale of some sort

what's the relay mod for?
EDIT: nevermind just looked it up

i think i'll go with the plug and play resistor kit they have for $20 and not worry about this relay mod

Relay mod is not near as daunting as it might seem. I had never used a soldering iron, but it was pretty simple. I'd highly recommend it.

i've used a soldering iron a lot but just doesn't seem as easy as the "headphone looking" jack that v-leds designed, less chance to mess it up haha

Hey Bro, just got your PM. I don't have any pics of mine, but they look the same as members above ^^. If you are on the fence about it, just get them. If you don't like how they look you can always return them or sale them on the black market. Good luck man!

And do the relay mod for sure.

Didn't clean it on Fri, got too lazy. I sprayed it off yesterday but didn't dry it, I ran out of time.

Thanks for everyone's help with pics and videos! I just put an order in for the v3 triton 5k switchbacks and the module to prevent hyper flashing. Lets hope it comes soon!

Boo for no relay mod, but hopefully your solution on those new bulbs is even easier.
