hahah I raced the mugen si when it first came out... completely killed it, my tl-s was stock at the time... so I ran home to see what they did to it...
NOTHING... infact it is actually slower than the stock si with all that plastic fiber they added
guessing the civic is for gas saving purposes...
ps. nbp-s looks hot

I would definitely dump the $31,250 you spent on a Mugen on a used NSX or something similar if I had the money to burn (and if I needed another car)...

When the Mugen version was released, I scoffed at it too... It's hard to get over the fact that you're writing a check out for a $31,000 Civic... .But I've priced out the Mugen Si vs. an Si with the equivalent aftermarket parts + labor -- and it comes out pretty close. To make it even closer, factor in the Mugen name/reputation, the rarity of the car, and the fact that all those parts are warrentied on the car as a whole.
I don't quite understand why you would purchase another FWD car -- especially a slower one that gets the same gas mileage. I would have gone with something a bit quicker and RWD or AWD. But to each their own. If you have the money and enjoy it that's all that matters I suppose. Congrats on the purchase and enjoy.

I'd never go for a Mugen Civic myself if I had the cash, but i don't think it's that bad of a car. Certainly looks alot better than the stock Si, especially the rear end.
But in the end it's just a Civic, and a Civic can never compare to a TL.

I just hate that its a four door, I think the two-door looks so much hotter, too bad you couldn't get the Type-R, the interior looks f'king hot dude.
Anyway I would've bought an S2000 with that money, but either way both are high reving Honda motors that should be a lot of fun to drive.

Definitely wouldn't spend $30k on a civic, but different strokes for different folks
just be careful where you drive that Mugen, cause you might just turn around and find it on cinder blocks with no wing, body kit, and missing interior pieces.

i was going to buy a new 08 civic si but couldn't justify spending 22k on a civic. let alone 30k on a 4 door civic..
i mean i love hondas but at the end of the day you still own a civic

the crazy thing is I think most dealers were selling those mugen civics for sticker or higher. For me the civic doesn't work, I didn't like the two tier dash and the economy car feel. However the car does seem to be very rare and to some that is huge and worth the money. Thanks for the posting the photos of it.
