Picked up my '08 TL today!

Hey guys, I just want to throw a quick intro out there. My name is Mike, I live in South Jordan UT. I drove a 2011 Subaru WRX but decided it was time to grow up and get a more economical and practical car. My dad was the sales manager at an Acura dealer back in the early to late 90s and he always had a new TL in the driveway. I fell in love with cars immediately. My family has always had very good luck with Honda products and I wanted something more sporty/luxurious than an Accord so the TL was a natural choice! I got mine today, it is an 08 (no nav) with 48k miles. She is in pretty good condition (other than a few small dings and bald stock tires). One question I do have is that I hear the power steering pump whine quite a bit. Does it just need more fluid or do these cars tend to do that? I am stoked to be part of this community. I had no idea Acura had this big of a following. Well, here are some pics!

Oh, and any suggestions on all season tires??

Congrats! Nice color choice. The power steering whine can be a o ring. You can purchase at the dealer for $1.

Hi and welcome!

Go see if the TL has already got its power steering hose recall done. As for tires, you can check the Tires, Wheels, Suspension section to see what others have to say about their choice of tires for the TL.

3x3 drain/refill on the trans fluid, just for peace of mind.

tint. wheels. coilovers.

Then call it a day as you roll down the street in style.

Tint will be on tomorrow, I just got the Conti DWS (mostly for the snow performnace). Im taking her to the delaer on Thursday to have them fix the power steering line, it was never fixed from the recall. I am also having them fix the rearview mirror, you can hardly see out of it because it is so loose. How much would I be looking at for them to drain and replace the trans fluid?

acura dealership wont' do a 3x3, they charge like 70 or 80 bucks for a 1x3 which is insufficient. It's super easy and doesn't take much time, we have DIY for it on the forum in the 3G Garage, look into it.

as for the rearview - have you tried pushing it back into place? Mine gets loose occasionally and I just push it back into place and it seems to work fine.

Congrats on the new car... it's a beauty. I picked up a 2008 TL myself about three months ago and really love it.
As for tires, I recently bought a set of Continental Extreme Grip DWS and they are great -- quiet ride and confident handling in snow.

Welcome to the 08 club. I got mine 2 years ago last week and I am still in love with it more now than before lol. Hope you have fun with it man I'm sure you will. Make sure you do the 3rd and 4th gear tranny pressure switches if it's auto.

Awesome! Thanks for the heads up. As for the mirror, I tried to push it up. I even tried to pop off the cover where the screw is to try and tighten it that way. I read somewhere that a lot of dealers will fix it for free, so I called my local dealer and sure enough they said they would do it when I take it in to have the power steering hose fixed!

I got them put on yesterday, went for about a 20 mile drive and I love them! Definately a great ride.
