i am somewhat on a budget and can get a d40 kit for 300 bucks. what i am wondering is who is using these cameras and what kind of pics they produce.. if your using filters and what lenses you use.?

any pics and info would be great or anyone willing to give me a quick run through on how to take some pretty good pics with it would be great too..
