Talking A Newly Zainoed WDP

Here are a few pictures after a day of Zaino. The pics don't do it justice!
Let me know what you think?!?!

Before Zaino

After Clay Bar, Z7, Z5, Z6, Z2, and another Z6 plus a little sweat and beer!!

Here are a few others....notice the reflections!!

Overall, I am very satisfied, and definitely suggest the Zaino line to others.

Until recently I always used the Klasse twins, decided to give the Zaino line a try. I'm a convert! Much easier to use.

Nice. Very nice.
You must feel the same way I did after I Zainoed my ABP. I did the same process you did. The Z6 stuff is insane. Supposedly the Z-8 Grand Finale Spray Seal is even better. Also like dmarcus48
says it's easy to use.

Ditto ptk681, although mine is a newly-purchased 05 Satin Silver. It looks fairly good now, but it's nothing like those pics.

Thanks!

I have and 06'WDP, bought in July.

I bought the "Zaino ULTIMATE Protection Show Car Kit ." I figured I would bite the bullet and get everything at once.

My steps were as follows(with beer scattered throughout):
*wash with Dawn
*clay bar using Z7 as a lubricant
*wash again with Dawn
*Z5 w/ ZFX polish(incase I had swirls)
*Z6
*Z2 w/ZFX polish
*Z6

I plan to put another 1-3 coats of Z2 this weekend, just see give it a little extra protection and shine.

Here is a good write up, it gives a lot more detail. The search brings up a bunch more!
Zaino Process

The Zaino website has some good info too.
Zaino Application

Also, the leather conditioner is great, it makes the car smell new again.

I wish I had somewhere around here to buy it instead of ordering it, so I could work on it this weekend. Maybe when the temp drops to low 80's I might tackle it.

By the way, it is much easier that it sounds. Unlike ordinary waxes, this stuff goes on and comes off quite easy! No sore arms or shoulders the next morning.

Yeah, everything I've read says do not use dawn. I didn't use it on my car.

It says to use Dawn specifically on the Zaino website.

Here is what is said:
3. I would definitely recommend you remove the wax buildup on your paint. Just use Liquid Dawn (hand dishwashing liquid) as a car wash. It has a high alkaline content which cuts right thru carnauba wax, paraffin, silicone oils, etc. This will get your paint finish squeeky clean and wax free.

I don't advise making a habit of washing your car with Dawn. But for this scenario it's fine. High alkaline products like Dawn are tough on polishes. It will never harm the paint finish though. A car wash is made specifically to clean without removing durable polishes. ALSO, Make sure you remove any water spots, before you apply my products. Because Zaino has no abrasives or harsh solvents it will not remove water spots or stains. Z-18 ClayBar is great for removing any paint surface contaminants. Re-wash the entire vehicle with Z-7 Car Wash immediately after the ClayBar Cleaning Process.

I figured he knows what is going on. I tried to follow those directions as close as possible.

I would recommend Klasse AIO regardless of what wax you plan on using.

Autopia.org site (detailing site) says never to use dawn. It won't hurt the paint but it'll dry out the rubber, something about removing oils from the rubber. With Zaino the idea behind the dawn is to get all the old wax off. From what I've read, either clay or aio will do that. So that's what I did, I clayed the car and then used AIO on it, then Z5 and then about four coats of Z2 . I think the car looks like it was dipped in clear plastic. Oh yeah I used poorboys wheel wax on the wheels, I find two or three coat to give the best results. Great stuff btw, very easy to use on the tl wheels.

you know dawn may or may not be ok, I just have a problem with using a product for something it wasnt designed or thoroughly researched for.

leedog,

Good statement. It's funny, I have sleep apnea and they tell use to use dawn to clean the mask so you get all the oil from your skin off of it. That I can understand.

Zaino is great but if you have a darker color car your going to have to polish out the swirming first and thus no need for a Dawn wash .. just use a water based polish like Menzerna and two things happen .. swirls reduced... old wax gone.

Or polish with Meguiars #80 then AIO prior to the Z2.
