I'm sure it's Royal Blue Pearl per the window sticker, but I have seen both Blues up close and I could not really tell any difference. The same thing with the so called new silvers ...couldn't tell much difference if any. The Acura salesman agreed they are pretty much the same but said the paint code is different. He sounded disappointed that they didn't make the silver like the RL silver. I can't figure out why Acura would bother making the claim of new colors and then make them so close (if not identical).

I was at the Dealership last week checking out the 06 TL. The thing I did notice about the color difference is, between the 2 Silvers-SSM has a bit of a really light blue affect to it where Alabaster is more of a Solid Siler.
The Blue-I forgot which one is which but, One is a Darker Blue and the other seems to be more a lighter blue
Correct me if Im wrong

Congratz on the new Royal Blue Pearl 06! That color *is* beautiful! I like the parchment interior too. I have an RBP 06 on order too, but with one small child and another on the way, I opted for the Quartz interior.
Mine will not be showing up at the dealership until sometime in December, but I want it in my hot, grubby little hands NOW! NOW! NOW!!!!!

Alright, here is my interpretation of the color difference between the new silver and blue colors - they are the same base paint color but they have less of the metallic flakes. The local dealer had an 05 silver next to an 06 silver and I could not tell the difference in color at all to be honest. Next was an 05 blue and an 06 blue and both cars when not in direct sunlight are the exact same color. However, in brighter light they are still damn near the same but the 05 (and my 04) were a hell of a lot more metallic looking. In the right light the 04 blue can look like it has a tinge of purple to it - I was not able to get this effect on the 06.
I'd be curious if anyone knows the true difference or has a different opinion. Again, my comparisons were side by side and in direct sunlight.

I also just noticed that the 06 doesn't come in Camel anymore. Apparently Parchment is the only option for a "light" interior. What the heck is up with that?!?

I thought I was the only one that noticed that there is no difference in the colors. I was beginning to think this was a case of the "emperor has no clothes". I looked a the silver side by side (not in the sun, but more overcast) and could not tell any difference. The Blue's were not exactly right next to each other that I looked at, but they looked identical from about 20 feet away. The sales guy told me they had different paint codes (I wasn't able to verify this), but he agreed they didn't look any different.

If you like, you could probably put one of the old type-S badges on the new car.
