NBP tailing Bezel (Gloss, satin, NBP Color match) ??
Well I was redoing taillights and I messed up the plating on my type S bezel so now I have to paint them I cant believe a few drops of water sitting on the black chrome will literally strip the plating off!!
So angry about this but black will still look good and probably better in most peoples opinion. Anyone every paint the bezel actual NBP?

Oh. As long as the reflector is still functional, then it is legal. However, if there is no reflector there then you will run the risk of getting a ticket. I wouldn't worry about it to much though.

You could spray the bottom reflector with NiteShades. That's what I did for mine and they still reflect fairly well at night

Your talking about swapping the clear smoked version in there now with a smoked red one? If so ya I might do that and very lightly smoke the side as well. I hate nite shades though I have a much better product. If your interested let me know

Omfg that looks good! I like the one with the red on the bottom also. It flows better and looks more "oem clean" like the rest of your car kinda is. Nothing wrong with the one on the left, but I just think if you're going to have the red signal, the reflector would look better red. And then you know its 100% legal also.

Well I read a few laws and I see the words "any reflectors must reflect red" so the clear smoked reflector might not be an option for me. I smoked the red reflector from behind which looks pretty good but I don't think I want dark red there and lighter red on the sides. I could smoke the sides a bit which I might look into. Its easy pretty to remove the tint if i don't like it. Tough decisions! I don't know what to do!

Quick question, what did you use to remove tint-spray? I looked for 'goof-off' but couldn't find it.
Thought paint-thinner was a brilliant idea... until my clear diffuser started crazying. D'OH!

I'd go with the one on the right with the red reflector. Reson being it breaks up all of the black and it will actually show up the black chrome more. It'll look more distinct. Oh btw, you are supposed to have the red reflector by law as for as I know. And I can only think that because if you have a tail light out and the car is in motion other drivers will see the reflector in motion and know something is ahead.

Well I will be using some JB weld in a few key areas to give it support then I will be filling the cut with rubber butyl sealer (I use the Nissan stuff or 3m seam caulk) the rubber butyl is a great sealer and sticks very well to the plastic. Also over time it will never get hard or crack which is not usually the case with epoxy. If I ever need to open it back up you can just cut through the rubber butyl with a knife and only need to dremel the support areas.

I like the one on the right! Good idea with the Nissan Butyl, I have some left over and I'll have to give that a try. One question though, I was wondering how hard it was to cut the bottom left of the taillight if you're looking at the back of them? It's kind of a flat area, I did cut open a set before but I cut a little to deep.

yeah... hahah, wish someone told me sooner [or wish I did a check first on paint thinner.] But now I know my lesson!
As for you tail light...
I prefer the one on the right better. As others said, it just helps accent the tail light better. I think it should be the same shade of red as the turn signal-red.
